Faculty members from educational institutions around the world may sponsor students demonstrating exceptional talent in the field of contemporary art. The nominees' work is then viewed by a distinguished panel of jurors.Winners of the award will be included in an exhibition at Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ, as well as additional arts organizations across the country. The winners' work will be published in Sculpture magazine, as well as on the ISC's website. The fine art and contemporary craft exhibition will be installed throughout The von Liebig Art Center in Naples, Florida from May 16 to July 12. The von Liebig Art Center is home to the Naples Art Association, a non profit visual art organization offering changing exhibitions, classes, workshops, lectures and Collier Counties largest dedicated art library. $3,000 in awards ($800 Best of Show, $500 Award of Excellence, $400 Juror's Choice Award, 3 Awards of Merit and 2 Honorable Mentions). Exhibition juror and awards judge Dahlia Morgan: Director Emerita, Frost Art Museum at Florida International University and member of the Art Basel Miami, Host Committee. Entry fee $50 until March 15 and $70 from March 16 through 29. About the Juror - During her long career with Florida International University, Dahlia Morgan transformed a modest student gallery on the Miami campus into an internationally celebrated art museum. As director and curator, Morgan instituted a lecture series, increased the frequency of exhibitions and developed numerous other programs including a student internship program. Morgan curated and organized over 200 exhibitions during her directorship. The Frost Art Museum grew to achieve local, national and international recognition as one of South Florida's key cultural institutions. Morgan is a four time National Endowment for the Arts Grants Panelist and member of the Art Basel Miami, Host Committee. DEADLINE APRIL 01, 2009 - $1750 in Awards Rauschenberg Tribute Exhibition: An International Juried Competition Online Event - Contests, Juried Art Shows - , Acrylic Museum Honoring world renowned artist Robert Rauschenberg and hosted by the Museum of the Gulf Coast in his hometown Port Arthur, Texas. The competition will be jurored by Susan Davidson, curator for The Guggenheim Museum. It is open to artists from around the world who are 18 years or older and whose work is inspired byand/or reflective of Robert Rauschenberg. Artwork submitted for consideration must measure no more than 48" on any one side and weigh no more than 50 lbs. Works with multiple parts must be pre-assembled upon arrival. Works with complex assembly will require artist installation at the artist's expense. Visitors have the option of contacting any participating artist with feedback or opportunities. As of Nov. 2008 over 200,000 messages have been sent to participating artists.
