    Greetings from TheArtList.com!

Recently, it feels like every time I look up another month has flown by and my "to do" list has grown longer. It has been tough to stay focused and maintain a high level of productivity when every week there is something new in the news to worry about. As if terrorism wasn't enough, now we have swine flu to content with. For those of you who are taking extra precautions such as avoiding going to places with lots of people, this might just be a good opportunity to hunker down and find time to focus on more creative pursuits. If the weather is nice, get outside with a sketchbook or camera...

Even with the downturn in the economy, we continue to see tons of great art calls and opportunity announcements being submitted daily. For those of you who haven't logged in to TheArtList recently, now is a great chance to see what is coming up for this summer. For those of you who are submitting to juried shows please be sure to let them know that you have found their call via TheArtList. That little bit of info, keeps them coming back and submitting over and over.

On the development front, after a long and lengthy delay (6 months) we are almost ready to launch our new premium gallery section that is designed to connect artists with the very galleries, businesses, and buyers, who are actively looking. We will be sending out an email in the next few days with more information for anyone that wants to be a beta tester. This is both exciting and nerve racking trying to get all finished and ready to launch.

Finally, before I sign off, I wanted to quickly tell you about a more personal issue. Generally, I tend to shy away from injecting personal issues into the monthly newsletters however, I feel that this is important. My good friend Mike is riding in the Pan Mass Challenge, a two-day 192 mile bike ride from Sturbridge, MA to Provincetown, MA to raise money for pediatric brain tumor research. This year with the economy the way it is, they are having a tougher time reaching their goals. I know that not everyone has the means or the interest in donating to this cause, but I figured that every little bit helps (no matter how small!), and the more people that donate, the better. So that is why I am taking the time to tell about this. For more information about why Mike is riding please go to , please go to: http://www.theartlist.com/teamluca.php.

Be to watch the "Why We Ride" video. As a young father, this is quite touching.

If this is not your cup of tea, please just disregard. I promise not to bother you with any more personal things..

Well enough of my rambling... and on to more art related things...
