2024 Regional Erotic Art Show and Sale

This show is a regional juried exhibition. (REAF also has a digital exhibition and a print shop open for submissions.) We are in search of high quality original works that are creative, erotic and thought-provoking, for exhibit or possible sale. Awards are available, plus all accepted artists receive a 2-day pass to the festival for themselves and a guest. Artists may submit up to 5 pieces on each entry, and may submit up to 3 entries. The $30 submission fee for up to 5 pieces is non-refundable. Artists submitting by January 6 will be notified in time to purchase Hotel Room Requests. Late submissions accepted through January 27. Work must be hand delivered on Thursday, April 18, 2024 or Friday morning, April 19. Silence is always juxtaposed against its opposites: sound, noise, and loudness. It is strongly associated with loneliness, alienation, the unknown and disturbing landscape on the one hand, and known tranquillity and peace on the other. Photographically, the contrast between deep darkness and dazzling light is also crucial. After natural or social catastrophes, everything falls silent: empty cities, villages, abandoned public transport and empty workplaces serve as reminders of the transience and fragility of humankind. Silence is accompanied by quiet activities such as contemplation and meditation, which negate the very nature of action itself. Additionally, silence is often present in still lifes, cityscapes, portraits, and many other photographic genres. Oil Painters of America is pleased to return to Mark Arts, Inc. in Wichita, Kansas for the Thirty-third National Exhibition and Convention. Portrayals of femininity and masculinity are, without a doubt, central to numerous art forms, with photography being no exception. The past few decades have sparked often heated discussions and criticisms of past, recent, and current photographic practices due to their lack of reflection on the assumptions, stereotypes, and prejudices surrounding approaches to femininity and masculinity. Both fine art and commercial works have been critiqued for the potential consequences of their approach and presentation. Historically, femininity and masculinity have been conceived as oppositions, complements to each other, or positions on a continuum, among other perspectives. There are scarcely any ways of portraying femininity and masculinity that would not be considered trivial, conservative, pretentious, demeaning, distasteful, clichéd, or even offensive by some. It often seems that everything has been said and photographed on this subject; however, it is impossible to ignore the persistence of the theme in our contemporary visual culture. What can we still value and possibly revive from the rich history of photography? Are there any novel ways left to approach this subject with a fresh critical eye? We welcome submissions from all photographers interested in this subject, aiming to showcase their work to a broader international audience through the exposure provided by PH21 Gallery.

Allegany National Photo Show Offers $7,500 in Cash Awards

The Allegany Arts Council will sponsor the 10th annual Allegany National Photography Competition and Exhibition (ANPCE) March 30-April 20, 2024. The juried show offers $7,500 in prize money, including $2,500 for Best of Show. It also offers the opportunity for photographers to exhibit their work in the show’s digital gallery and at the Arts Council’s modern galleries in downtown Cumberland, Maryland. Cumberland is located in the scenic and historic Mountain Maryland region, roughly midway between Baltimore and Pittsburgh. The deadline for entries (using the CAFÉ online system) is Friday, February 9, 2024. Photographers may submit a maximum of six (6) entries in three (3) categories. We are excited to announce ART ON LOOP - PARIS 2024, and invite artists from all countries to submit their works for consideration. This exhibition is open to all mediums, including but not limited to painting, photography, printmaking, video art, installation, films, sculpting, mixed media, poems, illustration, and more. The theme for the exhibition is OPEN, giving you the freedom to submit any work that aligns with your artistic vision. Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum - Birds in Art 2024: Call for Submissions

The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum invites submissions to its annual juried Birds in Art exhibition. Birds in Art has showcased the remarkable talents of more than 1,100 international artists since 1976 and is recognized globally as the exhibition setting the standard for avian art. Artists working in all mediums other than photography can submit up to two original artworks interpreting birds and related subject matter for jury consideration for Birds in Art 2024, on view September 7 – December 1, 2024. Chianciano Biennale 2024

The Chianciano Art Biennale is a true celebration of artistic diversity. With over 150 artists selected for the show, contemporary art will be in the company of talents from all corners of the world. Across 13 art galleries and the Chianciano Art Museum, the exhibition will be adorned with masterpieces, while additional exhibitions, including the likes of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Giorgio Armani, will grace the remaining walls. For over a decade, the Chianciano Art Biennale has stood as a beacon of artistic excellence, attracting talents from across the globe. Now, in its 8th edition, the Biennale continues to evolve and inspire, providing artists with the opportunity to leave their mark on the global art scene. Your artistic journey doesn't end with the exhibition. The Chianciano Art Biennale offers numerous awards, including a €2500 Euro prize for the best artwork.
