Happy November from TheArtList!  “If I create from the heart, nearly everything works; if from the head, almost nothing.” – Marc Chagall  It's November, Artists and Art Lovers! Fall is in full swing and the holidays are approaching! Plenty of inspiration to be had! We have a lot to get to, including this month's contest winners. Thanks to all who entered our contest for
sharing your art with us! Read on to see all of the artists that will be receiving gift certificates from our friends at Jerry's Artarama. This month's contest is live, so submit your art today! As always, we also have a lot of great calls from all over the world, so be sure to check out the full list at the bottom of this newsletter. Â If you haven't done so yet, please check out the blog section on our
website. We have some great articles that we think will be of interest to artists and art lovers alike. This month's article is The Slow Studio | Why Working at Your Own Pace Can Lead to Better Art. In a culture that celebrates speed—fast results, instant posting, and quick recognition—it’s easy to forget that art has always been about time. The time it takes to see, to feel, to make. The time it takes for an idea to quietly unfold. In the race to keep up, we risk sacrificing the very thing that makes art meaningful: time. And don't forget about our ART
MARKETING 101 series. It's designed to help both new and experienced artists get the most out of their online portfolios - from choosing the right domain name, to designing a professional-looking portfolio site, photographing your artwork like a pro, and even how to write an artist biography that's both compelling and optimized for SEO. We hope these will be great resources for our readers. We have a lot of other fun articles we hope you will enjoy as well!  If you are a gallery or organization that would like to take advantage of our current discounts to promote your upcoming art contest or event, visit https://www.theartlist.com/submit. As always, we thank you all -- artists and organizations -- for supporting TheArtList.  --------------------------------  - Please note that we are only able to showcase a small number of calls in the monthly newsletter, so be sure to visit our website www.theartlist.com for more. You can login to search for calls that match your interests.

Lee Beauchamp, and most audience votes Viewer's Choice selection is: Akinjide Baruwa. Congratulations and thank you for sharing your art with us!
 - Speaking of our Artist of the Month contests, we ask that
entrants please remember to include a link to their website along with their submission.Â
 - Do you follow us on any of our social media pages? We post new calls several times a week - and occasionally some of them have a very short submission window.  If you aren't following us on Facebook,
Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Reddit, and LinkedIn, you might be missing some calls! If you are also on LinkedIn, be sure to connect with us there!
Now go create some art!  - TheArtList.com Editors Â
ARTIST OF THE MONTH WINNER Nicholas Finocchio is an artist from Raynham, Massachusetts. Born into a bilingual Italian family, trips to Italy and his love
of nature shaped his artistic mind when he was young. Today, he creates original art for himself, as well as art based on his clients' wants. His winning piece was created as an homage to a friend that he taught to catch frogs as a child and it symbolizes the deep connection of simpler pleasures of days gone by. Read more about Nick and see more of his wonderful art in our Featured Artist of the Month page: https://www.theartlist.com/featured-artists/2025-nicholas-finocchio
SECOND PLACE WINNER Nick Watson was born in Newport, Rhode Island. He has lived all over the world (Guam, Hawaii, Philippines) and experienced many unique things (combat in Vietnam, a volcanic eruption and typhoon in the Philippines, 9/11 in
Washington DC). These experiences have helped shape his artistic style, which is full of various colors and textures. Read more about Nick and see more of his great art here: https://www.instagram.com/nickwatson_art/
THIRD PLACE WINNER Deborah Lee Beauchamp is a photographer from Ontario, Canada. We'd love to tell you more about her, but that's all we know! Â
VIEWER'S CHOICE Akinjide Baruwa is an accomplished artist from Osogbo, Nigeria. He received his education from Osun State College and Obafemi Awolowo University. His art has
been featured in many exhibitions and has won him several awards. "My artistic journey is inspired by Osogbo art movement, which reflects in my artistry. Using natural pigment, mostly for my means of expression, I create to add building blocks to the artistry of Osogbo art movement. I sought to present a new typeset with a twist of forms and figures with all aligned rifts. Giving birth to a form that is owned, in hues and appeal, giving rise to a new garb in esoteric and obviously an
artistic totem. I am confident that my artwork will resonate with your audience." See more of Akinjide's amazing art here: https://www.artmajeur.com/akinjide-baruwa

| DEADLINE: November 10, 2025 PH21 Gallery Barcelona presents: "Silence" – A Curated International Photography Exhibition, January 10 – February 3, 2026 Silence is always juxtaposed against its opposites: sound, noise, and loudness. It is strongly associated with loneliness, alienation, the unknown and disturbing
landscape on the one hand, and known tranquillity and peace on the other. Photographically, the contrast between deep darkness and dazzling light is also crucial. After natural or social catastrophes, everything falls silent: empty cities, villages, abandoned public transport and empty workplaces serve as reminders of the transience and fragility of humankind. Silence is accompanied by quiet activities such as contemplation and meditation, which negate the very nature of action itself.
Additionally, silence is often present in still lifes, cityscapes, portraits, and many other photographic genres. PH21 Gallery invites photographers to submit their work for our group exhibition themed "Silence". We welcome submissions from all photographers interested in sharing their experiences of silence with a broader international audience through exposure at PH21 Gallery. The theme is broadly construed without any photographic genre restrictions. We are interested in all possible creative
photographic interpretations of the theme. Website: https://www.ph21gallery.com Prospectus: https://www.ph21gallery.com/silence-26 |

| DEADLINE: December 08, 2025 PH21 Gallery Barcelona presents: "Upside down" – A Curated International Photography Exhibition, February 7 – March 3, 2026 While photographs are valued for their depictive potential and representative content, the non-depictive, non-representational aspects of photographic works are also strongly related
to their aesthetic significance. In this spirit, art photography has always aimed for the unity of form and content. Abstract photography has gone even further, celebrating abstract compositions for their own sake, without the need for appreciating or even recognising depictive content in the images. Turning a photograph upside down tends to strip it of its representative function because the depicted scene and objects are difficult, if not impossible, to recognise when the image is turned on
its side or upside down. However, the formal, compositional aspects of photographs become more pronounced in this manner, as our attention is directed away from scene and object recognition. In our Upside down exhibition, we aim to showcase photographs that are indeed turned upside down. Any photograph is eligible if the artist is willing to present it in this unconventional way. Abstract photographs might be considered the most suitable candidates for this experimental exhibiting method, but
there are many depictive works as well whose compositional qualities might also be appreciated in novel ways when turned upside down. This allows us to liberate ourselves from scrutinizing and concentrating solely on their representational content. All photographic genres are welcome.
