ARTIST OF THE MONTH WINNER Bruce S. Dilenschneider, age three, is an abstract painter whose fearless, layered works are already drawing international
attention. His canvases are emotional landscapes—bold, textured, and unapologetically alive. Raised in a home overflowing with creativity, Bruce paints instinctively, as though the canvas is an extension of his inner being. Each work is an unfiltered record of joy, struggle, and transformation. Note: Bruce's bio was provided by his mother. During judging of our monthly contests, the
artist's age is unknown, so it's remarkable that Bruce could create art such as he has at such a young age. Read more about Bruce and see more of his wonderful art in our Featured Artist of the Month page: https://www.theartlist.com/featured-artists/2025-bruce-sigmund-dilenschneider
THIRD PLACE WINNER Lura Schwarz Smith has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art from San Francisco State University. Originally working in textiles - one of her art quilts was named one of the “100 Best American Quilts of the 20th Century”- she has turned her creative focus to oil painting over recent years. In
painting, Smith uses both realistic and abstract approaches. Exploring the imagination and inner life through figurative art are primary themes in her art. Smith’s paintings have been honored with numerous awards, including several Best of Shows. Her work can be seen at Yosemite Gateway Art Center and the Yosemite Sierra Artists Gallery in Oakhurst, CA, and 480 Lighthouse Gallery in Pacific Grove, CA. It is joy, amusement, surprise. But that is only the beginning. As our life experiences mature, reflections become so much more than a copy of our own image. Virtually everything can be placed near a reflective surface and, as if by magic, you get to see
two, or three or…. And the possibilities are endless. This call is about all types of reflections. oil deposits, curved glass…. As with all NYC4PA calls all 2D photographic images are welcome. Website: https://www.nyc4pa.com Prospectus: https://www.nyc4pa.com/reflections |
| DEADLINE: September 15, 2025 PH21 Gallery Barcelona presents: Monochrome – A Curated International Photography Exhibition, November 15 – December 9, 2025 Monochrome photography is commonly associated with black-and-white images. However, throughout the history of photography, other tones such as sepia and cyan have also been utilized. Today, numerous examples of monochromatic images exist, deriving their
photographic qualities from the tonal range of a single colour. While monochromacy was once a technological constraint, it has now become more of an artistic choice. Photographers may opt to work with the shades of a single colour for compositional or expressive reasons, and their decision should be interpreted accordingly. Our appreciation of contemporary monochromatic images is rooted in the understanding that the lack of colour range holds significance and meaning, rather than being a mere
technological limitation. PH21 Gallery invites photographers to submit their work for a group exhibition themed Monochrome. We are looking for submissions from all photographers who create black-and-white or other monochromatic images and would like to share their work with a wider international audience through the exposure provided by PH21 Gallery. We welcome submissions from all photographic genres, including abstract compositions. We are interested in all possible creative photographic
interpretations of the theme. This exhibition will be showcased in PH21 Gallery’s beautiful new venue, situated in the heart of Barcelona’s historic Gothic Quarter. Website: https://www.ph21gallery.com Prospectus: https://www.ph21gallery.com/cfe-monochrome-25 |

| DEADLINE: October 13, 2025 PH21 Gallery Barcelona presents: "–scapes" – A Curated International Photography Exhibition, December 13, 2025 – January 6, 2026 There are various natural, artificial,
and even staged scenes that seize the attention of photographers, compelling and inspiring them to pause, observe, and create an image to convey a personal interpretation of what they see. These types of photographs are known by a variety of names: landscapes, cityscapes, streetscapes, seascapes, waterscapes, cloudscapes, or even desertscapes, treescapes, bodyscapes, and so forth. Among these photographs, the most successful ones go well beyond the mere recording of the visual qualities of a
place; they bear the marks of the interpretive insights of the photographer, prompting us to contemplate a scene as meaningful and significant. Merely re-presenting is never challenging; it requires a novel conception of the scene to engage us, viewers, through the keen eyes and creative mind of the photographer. PH21 Gallery invites photographers to submit their work for a group exhibition themed –scapes. We are looking for submissions from all photographers who are interested in this subject
and would like to share their work with a wider international audience through the exposure of PH21 Gallery. The theme is broadly construed, as the photographic portrayal of scenes of the natural and built environment is independent of generic or stylistic constraints. This exhibition will be showcased in PH21 Gallery’s beautiful new venue, situated in the heart of Barcelona’s historic Gothic Quarter.
