Foundwork is pleased to announce the open call for the 2025 Foundwork Artist Prize, an annual juried award for emerging and mid-career artists working in any
media. The award includes an unrestricted 10,000 USD grant, remote studio visits with each of this year’s esteemed jurors, and a long-form interview as part of the Foundwork Dialogues program. In addition, three shortlisted artists will be named to the 2025 Short List.
The jury for the 2025 Foundwork Artist Prize includes highly acclaimed and visionary voices hailing from New York, Los Angeles, Boston, London, and Paris:
Carmen Hermo, Lorraine and Alan Bressler Curator of Contemporary Art, MFA Boston
Ebony Haynes, Senior Director, David Zwirner and 52 Walker, New York City
Lauren Mackler, Independent Curator, Writer, and Designer, Los Angeles
Antonia Marsh, Curator and Founder, Soft Opening, London
Hugo Vitrani, Curator, Palais de Tokyo, Paris
Eligibility: The Prize is open to artists residing anywhere in the world with limited exceptions. To be considered, artists will need to register and maintain a profile on the Foundwork website, with at least six artworks and an artist statement published on their profile page, throughout the 2025 selection period: 5:00pm PT, September 26, 2025–5:00pm PT, December 31, 2025. Application Fees: There is no separate application fee to participate in the 2025 Foundwork Artist Prize. However, to be eligible, you will need to maintain an active Foundwork membership throughout the 2025 selection period. See FAQ for more information.
