Now go create some art!  - TheArtList.com Editors Â
ARTIST OF THE MONTH WINNER Theresa Kasun is a classically trained figurative artist and received her graduate degree from the NY Academy of Art. She is also trained in the techniques and philosophies of Impressionism and
received her BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute where she studied under Wilbur Niewald. She paints a wide range of subject matter from still lifes and portraits to en plain air painting. Her wine still life was a top seller on kitchen textiles at major retail stores during the 2000’s as a licensed artist. She has been painting original holiday designs on the windows of small businesses throughout the NYC area for over 30 years, and can be found painting en plain air around
Connecticut and at Citi Field in Queens, home of the major league baseball team, the Mets. Read more about Theresa and see more of her awesome art in our Featured Artist of the Month page: https://www.theartlist.com/featured-artists/2026-theresa-kasun
SECOND PLACE WINNER Lisa Clark is an artist from Cheltenham: "Visual art communicates messages beyond the images displayed, beyond the medium chosen to create it, and beyond the
pencil, pen, or brush strokes employed in its design. What a certain work of art means to one person may not even occur to another. When asked what his paintings meant, Picasso responded, 'Do you ever know what the birds are singing? You don't. But you listen to them anyway.' Like a song from birds, the value of art is in the experience of engaging with it, not in a pre-defined, easily digestible meaning. I hope that my art will speak to observers in ways they never expected. In my life as
well as my art, I have been drawn to beauty, creativity, and surprising expressions of both of those things. All of these are part of my faith in a Creator who has lovingly, faithfully, and extravagantly provided food for our bodies, minds, and souls. The creativity and skills he’s blessed me with have broken through day to day life and routines into artistic outcroppings that are small reflections of his creativity." See more of Lisa's amazing art here: https://www.instagram.com/lisaclarkartist/
THIRD PLACE WINNER Indranil Banerjee is a contemporary artist based in Kolkata, India, with over three decades of experience. He is the only artist from Asia to have a published patent on the geometrical positioning of objects in his
innovative "Theory behind depicting a recognizable abstract form through familiar geometrical positioning and relatability." His work evolves from richly textured abstractions to emotionally charged, story-driven paintings. Drawing inspiration from modern Indian masters, he employs a tactile, process-driven approach using oils, acrylics, and experimental techniques to blend chaos and order—creating "recognizable abstractions" that capture raw human emotions, nature's impressions, and life's
turmoil. For Indranil, art is a visceral rebellion of the heart: a wild, messy roar from within rather than a neat plan. Check out more of Indranil's awesome art here: https://indranilbanerjee.co.in/
VIEWER'S CHOICE Adri Moller is a contemporary South African artist working primarily in oil on canvas, known for atmospheric landscape paintings that balance abstraction and
representation. Her work explores open terrain, waterlines, distant structures, and quiet natural spaces, focusing on mood, memory, and emotional distance rather than literal description. Moller’s work appeals to collectors of modern landscape art, minimalist landscape painting, and expressive yet understated oil artworks that bring calm, space, and subtle presence into contemporary interiors. See more of Adri's fantastic art here: https://www.art-on-the-verandah.co.za/

| DEADLINE: March 30, 2026 PH21 Gallery Barcelona presents: "Feminine / Masculine" – A Curated International Photography Exhibition, May 30 – June 23,
2026 Portrayals of femininity and masculinity are, without a doubt, central to numerous art forms, with photography being no exception. The past few decades have sparked often heated discussions and criticisms of past, recent, and current photographic practices due to their lack of reflection on the assumptions, stereotypes, and prejudices surrounding approaches to femininity and masculinity. Both fine art and commercial works have been critiqued for the potential consequences of their
approach and presentation. Historically, femininity and masculinity have been conceived as oppositions, complements to each other, or positions on a continuum, among other perspectives. There are scarcely any ways of portraying femininity and masculinity that would not be considered trivial, conservative, pretentious, demeaning, distasteful, clichéd, or even offensive by some. It often seems that everything has been said and photographed on this subject; however, it is impossible to ignore the
persistence of the theme in our contemporary visual culture. What can we still value and possibly revive from the rich history of photography? Are there any novel ways left to approach this subject with a fresh critical eye? We welcome submissions from all photographers interested in this subject, aiming to showcase their work to a broader international audience through the exposure provided by PH21 Gallery. | DEADLINE: April 19, 2026 NYC4PA CALL FOR ENTRY - LUMINOSITY - THE IMPACT OF LIGHT Light
meters, backlighting, shadows and glare - photography is all about light – its presence as well as its absence. There is an iconic photograph of Grand Central Station with streams of sunlight filling the airspace as it reflects off dust particles in the air. Whether you are shooting in morning or evening light, sunrise or sunset the time of day an image is captured can be as important as the selection of the subject itself. A snapshot at one time of day, becomes an impactful photograph at
another. This call is about images where the presence, absence, and/or the location of light made the difference. Glare, flare, shadow, fill light all work as do lampshades aglow from an inside bulb, night lights in a city, streaming rays of sunlight. There are examples everywhere. Show us your shots where light is a key element. All 2D photo mediums are welcome. Website: https://www.nyc4pa.com Prospectus:

| DEADLINE:
April 27, 2026 PH21 Gallery Barcelona presents: "Motion" – A Curated International Photography Exhibition, June 27 – July 21, 2026 Photography is a medium of still images; it cannot create the illusion of motion the way moving images such as film, video, or cartoons can. The static nature of the image itself, however, has never prevented photographers from putting motion in the centre of their endeavours. In addition to freezing the moment, they often strive to capture
movement and the passing of time in a variety of other ways as well. The fragile moment might be disrupted by showing the sweeping power of motion. Capturing motion is never a given in photography because it is not a default option of the medium. Depicting or expressing motion is a welcome challenge for photographers; it is also the source of some of the most creative images in diverse photographic genres. PH21 Gallery invites photographers to submit their work for a group exhibition themed
Motion. We welcome submissions from all photographers interested in this intriguing topic and who would like to share their work with a wider international audience through exposure at PH21 Gallery. The theme is broadly construed and is independent of generic or stylistic constraints. We are interested in all possible creative photographic interpretations of the theme.
