Los Angeles has one of the most dynamic photography communities in the world and attracts photographers, galleries and collectors from around the world. April 18-23, 2017 marks the launch of The Los Angeles Festival of Photography in tandem with Photo Independent - The International Exposition of Contemporary Photography at The Reef in Los Angeles.

Participate in the LA Festival of Photography, the festival for photographers of all levels. Come participate, learn and take your photography to the next level through Workshops, Keynote Speakers, Lectures, Panel Discussions, The Business Of Photography Symposium, Exhibitions, and other Special Events.

Workshops include Roger Ballen: Fine Art Photography Workshop; Ralph Gibson: Photographing the Nude; Susan Burnstine: Defining the Personal Narrative; Julia Dean: Downtown LA Street Photography Walk & Workshop; Karin Apollonia Müller: Urban and Landscape Photography. The Festival will also be conducting several Mobile Photography Workshops, which include: David Ingraham: The iPhone Darkroom; Bob Weil: Creating Conceptual & Photoreal Art on Mobile Devices; and Nicki Fitz-Gerald: Life in Layers - Creative iPhone Artistry.

This is an opportunity for both emerging and established photographers as well as amateurs, to network and explore contemporary photography, as well as gain important perspectives on photography from leaders in the photographic medium.
