We are excited to announce our fourth biennial national juried art show,
COLOR, opening July 28, 2018. Our juror is Marcela
Guerrero, Assistant Curator at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
"In visual perception a color is almost never seen as it really is—as it physically is. This fact makes color the most relative medium in art. In order to use color effectively it is necessary to recognize that color deceives continually. 'Color is “passive,” “deceptive,” and “unstable,” color behaves, color is
magic,"' (Joseph Albers, Interaction of Color.)
Find the colors that sing to you and
share them with our wide audience. This call for submissions is open to all residents of the U.S. and its Territories, 18 years of age or older. This is a juried exhibition for artists working in all traditional and non-traditional 2-D and 3-D media, including film/video when part of an installation. All artwork must be original in concept, design and
execution.
Ours is a unique gallery – a massive Civil War‐era warehouse on the Red Hook waterfront in Brooklyn, NY. Its enormous space affords us the opportunity to exhibit large work, and we welcome it. BWAC Show Curators: Katrina D. Jeffries and Alicia Degener.
