The Marin Museum of Contemporary Art (MarinMOCA) invites applications from local, national, and international artists for a
one-year studio residency at the MarinMOCA Campus in Novato, California. This Artist in Residence program is designed to encourage the creative, intellectual, and personal growth of emerging and established visual artists. The residency offers the artist the gift of time to experiment and realize new work while giving
the community opportunities to connect and learn from the artist’s art practice and knowledge.
The artist will be provided with 24-hour access to a private, enclosed studio at MarinMOCA and will be surrounded by over 50 artists who provide an atmosphere of friendly and inspiring artistic dialogue.
The selected artist(s) will receive a stipend of $1,000 during their stay. All
other costs for material or travel will be covered by the artist. The artist chosen will be a valued and integral part of MarinMOCA’s programming and outreach to the community, and in this spirit resident artists are expected to commit themselves for the entire residency awarded to them.
Qualified applicants are professional individual artists over the age of 21; artists working in all media are welcome to apply.
