Calls for Submissions - Acrylic, Ceramics, Digital Media, Fiber, Glass, Mosaic, Drawing/Illustration, Metalsmithing, Sculpture, Oil, Pastel, Photography, Watercolor, Video/Film Museum
This exhibit is open to all media, including sculpture,
ceramics, photography, and video. THEME: Memory and Perception: Philip Guston said: “Painting is a kind of war between the moment and the pull of memory.” All artists integrate their life experiences into their artwork, integrating what they see and sense in the present with their memories of the past. That is what makes every artwork unique and valuable to the viewer. Anais Nin understood that the lens through which reality is perceived is shaped by the beholder, “We don’t see things as they
are, we see them as we are.” In this exhibition, show us yourself by sharing how memory and perception have shaped your art. JUROR: Alan Bamberger: Alan is an internationally known art consultant, writer, and art reviewer located in San Francisco, CA where he has been actively involved with art for 40 years. His reviews of gallery and museum shows are eagerly anticipated both on his website, and his instagram account at @alanbamberger. His writings include hundreds of syndicated columns,
articles and three books. His website, artbusiness.com, has evolved into a resource for artists, collectors, fine arts professionals, and anyone interested in better understanding how the art world works. For the last twenty years, he has been consulting with artists internationally, advising them on all aspects of their art and art careers. Open to all U.S. resident artists 18 and over. PH21 Gallery - Call for
Entries: Nocturnal
Calls for Submissions - Photography Photo Gallery
A curated international photography exhibition. November 8 – December 8, 2018. Many of the events of our lives occur in the evenings and night hours, times filled with an ambiguity that encompasses the safety of peacefulness and uncertainty of the unknown. Technical limitations of photography restrict us to either the sparse natural light sources of the night sky or the artificial lights of human built environments.
This has always been an interesting challenge for photographers, and evening and night scenes constitute an ongoing theme in numerous photographic genres. Nocturnal photography includes any and all scenes and activities photographed during the evening and night, ranging from night events such as parties, to those of the busy evening hours of the city street, the quiet nights of the countryside, or the intimate times of people in their homes. The photographs do not have to be dark, for many night
scenes are luminous with artificial lights. We are looking for the mood and the creative photographic expression of the night. PH21 Gallery invites photographers to submit their work for a group exhibition themed Nocturnal. We are looking for submissions from photographers who are interested in this topic and who would like to share their work with a wider international audience through the exposure of PH21 Gallery. The topic is broadly construed, as the theme is independent of generic or
stylistic constraints. The only requirement is that the photographs must have been taken during the evening hours or at night.

2019 Embracing Our Differences International Art Exhibit Celebrating Diversity
Online Event - Calls for Submissions - Acrylic, Crafts, Digital Media, Glass, Mosaic, Graphic Design, Drawing/Illustration, Mixed media, Oil, Pastel, Photography, Watercolor Art Organization
Art is a powerful tool to evoke
social change. Without uttering a single word, artists can enlighten, educate and affect change around the world. Since 2004, Embracing Our Differences has used the power of art and prose to promote diversity. One way we accomplish this is through our annual international art exhibition in Sarasota’s Bayfront Park. The juried exhibit consists of 45 billboard-size images, each work of art is created by local, national and international artists reflecting their interpretation of our theme
"enriching lives through diversity and inclusion." Embracing Our Differences invites you to participate in creating a world where differences are embraced and individuality is celebrated. Become a part of this exciting change through your visual art submission to the annual Embracing Our Differences international juried competition. The winning artworks combine a deep understanding of both medium and message. Awards are given for "Best-in-Show Adult," "Best-in-Show Student," and "People's
Choice" categories, with the last chosen by visitors to the exhibit. Adult winners each receive $1,000; students receive $1,000 with $500 to be directed to the student and $500 to their school’s art program, if they worked under the direction of an educator. The statements accompanying each artwork are also vital and provide insight into our common humanity—as well as the differences that make us all unique. In 2017, 212,000 people visited the exhibition—bringing the total amount of visitors to
2.5 million since 2004. The exhibit will be displayed from 1-19 through 3-14 in Sarasota's Bayfront Park.
