Philip Guston said: “Painting is a kind of war between the moment and the pull of memory.” All artists integrate their life experiences into their artwork, integrating what they see and sense in the present with their memories of
the past. That is what makes every artwork
unique and valuable to the viewer. Anais Nin understood that the lens through which reality is perceived is shaped by the beholder, “We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.” In this exhibition, show us yourself by sharing how memory and perception have shaped your art.
