Grand Prize Winner
Congratulations to Deena Ball, our November Artist of the Month. She wins a $75 gift certificate to Jerry's Artarama. Deena's love of nature, science and art comes together when she paints outside. She is a student of nature who is constantly amazed at the natural world. She paints to help others see, respect, and conserve the beauty in our natural world. Seek the sacred within the ordinary. Seek the remarkable within the commonplace.
R. Nachman. Deena's Artist of the Month page can be seen at: https://www.theartlist.com/aom_11_18.html
Second Place Winner Wendy McArthur found art in her youth, but wondered if she could earn a living as an fine artist. She is our second place winner, winning $50 to Jerry's Artarama. In college she studied business and interior design as a means to use her artist's eye and creative gift in the working world. While Wendy spent her days in the interior design world, she spent her nights, weekends and vacations passionately pursuing knowledge in the fine arts
world. For Wendy, painting is a passion, she is happiest behind the easel or on the coast with camera in hand looking out for the next subject. . Wendy attributes her success to her dedication in studying her craft, prayer, and miles and miles of canvas! You'll find Wendy McArthur's art displayed in several galleries in the Southeastern United States and on her website: https://www.wendymcarthur.com. Third Place Winner Kaitlyn
Adams' is the third place winner, winning a $25 gift certificate to Jerry's Artarama. Her intrinsic anatomical compositions demonstrate both knowledge and technical skill. These pieces range from accurate medical illustrations to macabre conceptual pieces and even the occasional off-kilter political cartoon. Adams executes her work through vibrant color, lighting, and fine/fluid lines. She is most influenced by science, particularly microorganisms (both in form and association) and the
pervading sense of interconectedness on a large scale. Adams is also inspired by age, foreign culture and timeless social and gender issues that remain relevant today in an almost shared consciousness.
Viewer's Choice Winner Lorraine Wallace Trenholm was born in New York, where she lived until completing studies as a painting major at Pratt Institute. Lorraine is the Viewer's Choice Winner for November 2018. She has done drawings and paintings for dog events and people with equine interests since high school. Several of her drawings and pastels have appeared on covers of the Saluki Quarterly, a breed specialty magazine. Her paintings are in
private collections, in the U.S. and abroad. Lorraine’s artwork is displayed on her web site at: www.lorrainetrenholm.com. She says: “ I love experimenting with materials- oriental papers, jewelry findings, pastels, oils, water colors – to create images and light effects in paintings of dogs, horses, and landscapes.”

 | DEADLINE NOVEMBER
04, 2018 - $300 in Awards The Art of Still Life Contests, Juried Art Shows - Acrylic, Ceramics, Fiber, Drawing/Illustration, Mixed media, Sculpture, Oil, Pastel, Watercolor
The Art of Still Life Exhibit will be held this December at the 3 Square Art Gallery! Artist through the ages have been interested in depicting
innate objects to convey religious themes, familiar surroundings, educational programs, and benchmark the skill of the artist. Common items portrayed by Still Life Artists of the past include everyday objects such as fruit, flowers, coins, food items, wine glasses, and dinnerware. Modern Still Life Artists have experimented with different ways to visualize and portray these objects and with abstraction, some have even completely deconstructed the physical shapes of the objects. In our object and
material rich society, there are many items for use by the artist for a Still Life. What items will you use and how will you arrange them? What is your take on the Still Life? We are looking for all types of works--painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and more--works that show off your ability and creativity with the Still Life. Will you stick with the classical approach to the still life and familiar objects or will you completely flip the Still Life on its head to show a new way to view
the objects you are using. How will you use the objects of our modern times for your Still Life piece? The main criteria for selection is creativity and fresh approaches in the artwork and use of fresh new objects.

| | DEADLINE NOVEMBER 05, 2018 PH21 Gallery - Call for Entries: Lines and Curves Calls for Submissions - Photography Photo
Gallery
A curated international photography exhibition.December 6, 2018 – January 5, 2019. Lines and curves are some of the most important visual building blocks of both figurative and abstract images. We can observe lines and curves of all possible varieties in photographs; they are everywhere. Putting them in the centre of attention might even sound trivial and not particularly interesting at first. This, however, is a call for notjust anylines and curves. We would like to see
lines and curves that take a daring and pronounced initiative in the photograph; lines and curves that capture our attention, lead our eyes, and determine the way we appreciate the photograph. Lines and curves might have significant compositional role but they may also focus our attention on some parts of the image, hence influencing our interpretation. There are countless ways lines and curves might become the central creative aspect in a photograph.PH21 Gallery invites photographers to submit
their work for a group exhibition themed Lines and Curves. We are looking for submissions from all photographers who are interested in this subject and would like to share their work with a wider international audience through the exposure of PH21 Gallery. We welcome submissions from all photographic genres, including abstract compositions. We are interested in all possible creative photographic interpretations of the theme.
