SECOND PLACE WINNER
Jerry's Artarama awards our second place winner, Diane Pribojan with a $50 gift certificate. Born in the former Yugoslavia, Diane Pribojan has lived most of her life in Cleveland, OH. She finds inspiration in rural architecture and landscapes. Her paintings are idealized and simplified images with exaggerated color and space; she uses this style to express a specific mood or time.
Diane has had an interest in art ever since she was a small child. She began her studies at the Cleveland Institute of Art and went on to earn her MFA at Kent State University. Diane exhibits widely. Her work can be seen online at http://dianepribojan.blogspot.com.
THIRD PLACE WINNER
Glass Artist, Emilie Righetti wins third place and a $25 gift certificate to Jerry's Artarama. She says "I love to work with clay, glass, soft copper & found materials to create unique pieces of art. These materials can have a very stiff look. I like to twist and mold these materials to give movement to each piece. My studio is located in my garden where I can collect ideas from nature. I will add a fused glass
dragonfly to a large ceramic pot to give the piece the look of a ponds edge. I will twist glass rods and add patina copper to the piece with glass butterflies to give the look of a tulip. When someone asks how I created the piece I know I've captured their attention. I grew up in San Francisco, CA where nature and museums were all around me. I loved art and took classes in high school and college." Her website can be seen at: www.zoomaru.org/Emilie_Righetti

DEADLINE FEBRUARY 11, 2019
PH21 Gallery - Call for Entries: Motion
Calls for Submissions - Photography Photo Gallery
A curated international photography exhibition.March 14 – April 6, 2019. Photography is a medium of still images; it cannot create the illusion of motion the way in which moving images such as film, video or cartoons can. The static nature of the image itself, however, has never prevented photographers from putting motion in the centre of their endeavours. Instead of freezing the moment they often strive for capturing movement and the passing of time in a variety of ways. The fragile
moment might be broken by showing the sweeping power of motion. Capturing motion is never a mere given in photography because it is not a default option of the medium. Depicting or expressing motion is a welcome challenge for photographers; it is also the source of some of the most creative images in diverse photographic genres. PH21 Gallery invites photographers to submit their work for a group exhibition themed Motion. We are looking for submissions from all photographers who are interested in
this most intriguing topic and would like to share their work with a wider international audience through the exposure of PH21 Gallery. The theme is broadly construed and it is independent of generic or stylistic constraints. We are interested in all possible creative photographic interpretations of the theme.

DEADLINE FEBRUARY 24, 2019 - $3000 in Awards
WIDE OPEN 10 – Call for Submissions - National Juried Art Show
Calls for Submissions - Acrylic, Digital Media, Glass, Mosaic, Drawing/Illustration, Mixed media, Sculpture, Oil, Pastel, Photography, Watercolor Art Organization
We are excited to announce our tenth annual national juried art show, WIDE OPEN 10, opening May 11, 2019. Our juror is Ylinka Barotto, Assistant Curator at the Guggenheim Museum. $3000 in cash prizes will be awarded, including $1000 Best in Show. The exhibit runs May 11 – July 7, 2019. Ours is a truly unique gallery – a massive Civil War-era warehouse on the Red Hook waterfront in Brooklyn, NY. Its enormous space affords us the opportunity to exhibit really huge work, and we welcome it.
BWAC’s curators will be using 8,000 square feet for this show, and look forward to exhibiting artist’s work from all around the country, work in all sizes, and subjects, and media, (it’s completely wide open). The broad theme of WIDE OPEN 10 encompasses all the possibilities of knowledge and freedom and love - wide open spaces…arms wide open…eyes wide open - but as with all things, there is the inevitable opposite - wide open to attack…corruption…failure. What kind of fantasy is this? What does
it really indicate? This juried show looks to explore the idea of “wide open” in all the hidden niches of our collective psyche. This call for submissions is open to all residents of the U.S. and its Territories 18 years of age or older. This is a juried exhibition for artists working in all traditional and non-traditional 2-D and 3-D media, including film/video when part of an installation. All artwork must be original in concept, design and execution. All work should be non-utilitarian in
nature. This is a fine art exhibition. Early Bird discount through Februrary 4, 2019.
