MarinMOCA has an open call to artists for the upcoming Happenstance Art Exhibition. Happenstance draws from the concept of serendipity and invites works that incorporate fortunate accidents, coincidences, and unexpected events contributing to their development and creation. This exhibition celebrates those discoveries, highlighting the positive outcomes of embracing the unexpected, and turning challenges into opportunities. SUBMIT EARLY! Only 400 qualified artist entries will be accepted. Call will be closed on Sept. 30 or when we reach 400 entries, whichever occurs first.

 

Juror: Zoë Taleporos is a curator, arts administrator, and writer based in Oakland. She currently works as a Public Art Project Manager at the San Francisco Arts Commission.

 

Eligibility: This call is open to artists working in all media, 2D and 3D. All entrants must be U.S. resident artists 18 and over.

Awards: First Place: $500, Second Place: $300, Third Place: $100. Non-monetary Honorable Mention awards may be given at Juror’s discretion.
