Happy October from TheArtList!
“As long as autumn lasts, I shall not have hands,
canvas and colors enough to paint the beautiful things I see.”
- Vincent van Gogh
Autumn is here! Down here at TheArtList.com headquarters, we don't really get the full four-season experience, but we hope that those of you who do will be inspired by all the wonderful fall colors you're seeing! Along with the leaves changing colors, autumn also brings cooler weather, the beginning of the holiday season, haunted houses and pumpkin-spiced everything (you can't
escape it!). Plenty of things to get those caffeine-infused creative juices flowing! We've got some great art calls for you to focus that creativity on, so keep reading!
In the meantime, if you are a gallery or organization that would like to take advantage of our current discounts to promote your upcoming art contest or event, visit https://www.theartlist.com/submit. As always, we thank you all -- artists and organizations -- for supporting
TheArtList.

ARTIST OF THE MONTH WINNER
Geoff Musseau is a self-taught artist born in Channel-Port-aux-Basques, Newfoundland. Living on the southwest coast of Newfoundland - a region that abounds with rural beauty - he's never at loss for natural inspiration. The area's shoreline, woodlands, farmer's fields and meadows fuel his imagination and provide an Artistic vision that reveals Newfoundland as it has never been captured on canvas before. See Geoff's Featured Artist of the
Month page for more: https://www.theartlist.com/featured-artists/2021-geoff-musseau

Dr. Alan Richards' specializes in photo-based image composites or new media art. The images may be playful, satirical, or of a more serious nature. His artwork represents the human condition, and reflects how he views events and the interactions between people and the world. His work is primarily based on photographic images he either took himself or found, and developed by digital painting, drawing, image clips, vectors, and CAD elements. See more of
Alan's unique work here: https://www.alanrichardsart.com/

VIEWER'S CHOICE
Laurie Williams is an internet marketer and graphic designer from Maryland who only recently dove into the world of art after being inspired by the bright colors of alcohol ink and the geometrical designs of Zentangle® inspired art. As a young child in Mississippi, she was inspired by the art her uncle, David Gallagher, created with just a pencil and piece of paper. Laurie
started TrumpetArt to showcase not only her work, but the work of her uncle as well. Visit Laurie's website to see more of her (and her uncle's!) art: https://trumpetart.com/

PH21 Gallery presents: Dis/harmony – A Curated International Photography Exhibition
Harmony is an elusive, perhaps even ineffable aspect of photographic images. So is disharmony, its possibly disturbing, but often stimulating opposite. Although many photographers share the view that the communicative impact of images is enhanced by their harmony, there are countless individual artistic interpretations of what makes an image harmonious or disharmonious. Some consider harmony primarily as a visual compositional feature of photographs, also allowing for the unusual, for the
unexpected, or even for the disturbing when it comes to compositional harmony or disharmony. For many others, harmony is also a thematic concept, and they find harmonious elements in the communicative content of the image, arising from the various interactions depicted in the photograph. The intentional lack of harmony may also lead to most creative photographic compositions. All photographic genres use the elements of composition to create the sense of harmony or its opposite.
