“Art is the most intense mode of individualism
that the world has
known.” ~Oscar Wilde. It’s no secret that some of the best artwork
comes from “tortured” artists creating with an inspiration rooted from
intense feelings such as sorrow, desperation and fear. Art can be a
truly liberating and therapeutic process. It can also be a crutch, a
mask to hide behind. With this call for entry we want to know what
drives you to create. Interpret your anguish, what’s in your gut?
Whether it is love, hate, jealousy, pain or loss, we want to see
artwork that was created because it had to be done. All international

This controversial state of being can mean many
different things to
people all over the world. A few interpretations of the feelings
associated with spirituality are an unmatched state of peace and
comfort, a strong bond to mother earth and even a reason for war. For
many, it means believing in a higher power. Others claim spirituality
as an intense emotional feeling or connection. Do you have a deep
philosophy or epiphany that you have now or have experienced? Is it
science or faith? For this call we want to know what spirituality means
to you. Create what this feeling looks like. Is it the key to your
freedom? Or is it the bars on your prison? -Joni Mitchell. All

Eco Arts Awards. As this is a themed competition a word about the theme
might come in handy. From the perspective of the founder of Eco Arts
Awards, the meaning of ecology wants to be enlarged in the twenty first
century to have more focus on how human beings, as stewards of the
planet, are behaving toward one another as well as toward our
environment, as both are interrelated. You might call it a more
integral approach to the theme, so this truly opens the meaning and the
theme to be very inclusive of many topics.
