1650 Gallery is hosting the juried photography exhibition
IN THE ZONE: BLACK & WHITE

Black and white; the tuxedo of the photographic arts. Classic, compelling - always in style. Impeccable lineage, dating back to the earliest days of the craft. Nothing quite compares to the magic of a fine black and white photo. Inky blacks anchor a whirlwind of grays, topped with shimmering white highlights. Tradition, romance and adventure all rolled into one silvery mode of expression. This month, 1650 goes hardcore classic into the world of black and white with IN THE ZONE, an exploration of black and white photography. Louie, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship!

Approximately fifty works will be chosen from submitted photographs to be included in the IN THE ZONE exhibition at 1650 Gallery in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. Additional works may also be selected for an online gallery exhibition page.

There is an entry fee of $25 for up to 5 images. Additional entries may be submitted for $5 each.

All accepted entries must submit a high res jpeg (300-360 dpi , minimum size 5x7") to be included in the printed SHOW CATALOG.

We offer free matting and framing for accepted photographs that fit our pre-cut mat sizes for the duration of the exhibition. We have a variety of frames and mats to choose from. Selected artists may choose to offer their work for sale. The gallery retains 50% of the sale price, as well as 9.00% California sales tax.

Juror: Andrew Overtoom is an award winning filmmaker and photographer living in Los Angeles. He publishes THE UNDEAD NEG photography blog. He is also the owner/curator of 1650 Gallery in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.
