GALLERY CALL
FOR ENTRIES OPENING NIGHT
RECEPTION: 1650 Gallery is hosting the
juried photography exhibition The power of the female form has never been a stranger to the photographer's lens. By turns beautiful, bewitching, beguiling, mesmerizing, motivating... and sometimes maddening -- the femme fatale has inspired great works of art, crimes of passion, and sometimes just a barefoot walk in the park. This month 1650 wants to see your girl-next-door, your sultry spy pics and your "devil in Miss Jones" snapshots. Show us via the female form the irresistible, the motivator, the "to die for". You know she is out there... now gin up some courage and go photograph her! This month at 1650 we celebrate the allure, the beauty and the unstoppable power of all things female. You'll hate yourself in the morning. And isn't that what great art is all about? Approximately fifty
works will be chosen from submitted photographs to
be included in the FEMME
FATALE exhibition at 1650 Gallery in the Echo
Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. Additional works may also be selected
for an online gallery exhibition page. Juror:
Andrew Overtoom
is an award winning filmmaker and photographer living in Los Angeles.
He publishes THE UNDEAD NEG photography blog. He is also the
owner/curator
of 1650
Gallery in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los
Angeles. |
