“It’s
the Little Things” –
A Call for Photography Entries

Being that February is such a teeny tiny month and all, it seemed the
perfect occasion to embellish the walls of 1 lb. Gallery
with images that bring attention to some of life’s other little things…
For the February Exhibition – 1 lb. Gallery asks you to submit images
that will prompt the viewer to discover beauty in the most mundane,
everyday objects and scenarios – so that they might then adopt an
appreciation for things and situations that are oftentimes overlooked,
or taken for granted. And although macro photography will fit quite
neatly into this particular theme, it is by no means a prerequisite for
your work being considered relevant to this call for entries.
One Entrant will receive the “Juror’s Choice Award”, and will be the
featured artist on the 1 lb. website for the month of February, 2014,
as well as the special guest at the “It’s the Little Things” Opening
Night & Artist’s Reception” on February 7th, 2014. “Juror’s
Choice Award” winners who are unable to attend the exhibition’s Opening
Night, have the option of, and are encouraged to Skype with attendees
of the event, over the course of the evening. The “Juror’s Choice
Award” winner will also receive an archival 8.5″ x 11″ giclée print of
one of their images.
Up to 35 images will be chosen from the submissions, and will be on
display in the “It’s the Little Things” Exhibition at 1 lb. Gallery
from February 5th, – March 1st, 2014. Winning images will also appear
on the 1 lb. website, and will be made available for online purchases.

be announced by Saturday, January 11th, 2014
Images
selected for inclusion in the February show,
must arrive
at the gallery, ready to hang – by no later than Saturday, February
1st, 2014.
We hope that
you’ll join us at 1 lb. Gallery for the “It’s the Little Things”
Opening & Artists’ Reception on:
Friday,
February 7th, 2014
From 6:00
p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
The fee to submit is $25 for up to 5 images, $6 for each additional
image. No more than 10 total photos per entrant, please.
Here at the gallery, we firmly believe that Smart Phone Photography is
a legitimate art form, so please do not hesitate to submit images that
were captured on your cell phones.
1 lb. Gallery offers matting and framing for accepted photographs that
fit our pre-cut mat sizes, for the duration of the exhibit. We will
also print images that were selected for display in the gallery, should
you prefer not to mail your print. We do not take a commission on the
sale of juried show works that were printed here at the gallery, we do
however retain the 5.3% sales tax.
