At the
guest and cultural house the Teufelhof
Basel gastronomy, hotel
business, theatre and art are an extraordinary combination, all under
one roof. The Teufelhof has 2 restaurants, the restaurant Atelier,
which serves modern world cuisine with predominant regional products.
The second restaurant is called Bel Etage and is a fine dining
restaurant with one Michelin star. The theatre is located just above
the Atelier and under the Bel Etage you can find the café & bar
“zum Teufel”. Besides that the Teufelhof is a unique hotel world with 2
hotels, the Art and the Gallery Hotel. The Art Hotel has eight rooms
and one suite, all of which are appointed as liveable works of art. The
rooms are redesigned by artists at regular intervals. The Gallery Hotel
has 24 rooms distributed on 3 floors and act as an exhibition space for
art. Different exhibitions are on view for one year at a time.
For
the upcoming exhibition (august 2014–summer 2015)
the
theme of the exhibition will be “Mixed Media”.
For this
exhibition we are calling for artists that combine different
art techniques and methods and would like to show their art in the
gallery hotel. For this we launch the following call for artists:
- We are looking for artists that want to exhibit
their art at the
Gallery Hotel from august 2014 to summer 2015.
- Those artwork will be shown in the whole space
of the Gallery Hotel,
which are as well as 24 hotel rooms and the hotel corridors.
- We are looking for works made with “Mixed
Media”. Basically all
materials are allowed.
- The artwork has to be designed/ created in
order to be hanged on a
wall
- The artwork may not cause any emission, that
affect the residential
quality
- Basically all works are for sale for all
Teufelhof guests.
- Artists can apply with a maximum of 5 works
Please send your submission not later than 29.06.2014 to: Aline Stölzer

documents:
- CV
- Homepage
- Pictures of maximum 5 artworks with information
on size, year of
origin, title and price.
A competent jury will select the artists for the exhibition from all
applications. The jury will choose upon following criteria:
- The artwork has to be designed/ created in
order to be hanged on a
wall and should fit through a door.
- originality
- diversity of materials
- professional implementation of the chosen
techniques
And some parameters, information on the process and the frame
conditions:
- The transportation of the artwork to the
Teufelhof is organised and
financed by the artist.
- The possible return transport is done by the
Teufelhof.
- All works are for sale during the whole
exhibition. In case of a sale
the Teufelhof will receive a provision of 20%.
- All artwork will be insured by the Teufelhof
during the whole
exhibition period.
- A booklet with artists profile and photographs
of all works will be
done about the exhibition.
