International Juried Exhibition—A Portfolio Competition

The
Center for Photographic Art (CPA) is pleased to announce the 2015
International Juried Exhibition—A Portfolio Competition. For the first
time in the history of this annual juried show, CPA is seeking
submissions of cohesive bodies of work. Each photographer’s portfolio
must exemplify sustained intent through a series of eight images.
Approximately
33 juror-selected winners will be celebrated in the 2015 International
Juried Exhibition this January in the CPA’s gallery at the historic
Sunset Center in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. These images will also
be available for viewing on the CPA website, along with another one
hundred juror-selected photographs from among the submissions.
Participation in the online gallery is optional. In addition, CPA will
publish a print-on-demand catalog containing all 140 images chosen for
inclusion in the gallery+online exhibitions.

Prizes:
The
juror will award the following prizes:
- (1)
Best in Show: $3,000
- (1)
Second Place: $2,000
- (1)
Third Place: $1,000
In
addition, the Best in Show will have their entire portfolio of eight
images displayed in the gallery during the January exhibition.
Schedule:

PST - Last day for entries.
- 11/15/14
- All
juror-selected photographers notified via email and can begin to ship
their framed artwork to CPA.
- 12/30/2014
- 1/2/2015 - Juror-selected
photographers
who do not choose to ship their framed artwork can instead deliver it
to CPA. NOTE: CPA is closed on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2015.

Eligibility:
The
2015 International Juried Exhibition is open to all photographers over
the age of 18, from all geographical locations, both amateur and
professional, working in all still photographic media. There is no
theme; any subject matter is eligible. All work must have been
completed on or after January 1, 2004. CPA staff and Trustees are not
eligible.
Fees:

Entries (10/02/14 – 10/15/14 Midnight PST)

- CPA Members submit eight images from a single body of work
- $135
- Non-CPA-members submit eight images from a single body of work

MUST wait for your Membership Acknowledgement email BEFORE you enter! Memberships
take several days to process. As soon as your membership is registered
in our system, we will send you a welcoming email. ONLY from that point
on will you qualify for the reduced Portfolio Competition submission
fee.
