DEADLINE NOVEMBER 10, 2014 - $2200 in Awards PSGNA Juried Open Online Art Competition and Exhibt for Artists Online Event - Calls for Submissions - Acrylic, Drawing/Illustration, Mixed media, Sculpture, Oil, Pastel, Watercolor Art Organization CALL FOR ENTRIES: The Puget Sound Group Northwest Artists announces its inaugural Juried Open Online Art Competition and Exhibit for Artists working in both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional media. Artists from around the world are invited to submit their best works for online exhibition and awards. Entries are accepted beginning September 1, 2014 and ending November 10, 2014, Pacific Standard Time (PST). ELIGIBILITY: Artists 18 years of age and older are eligible to enter the show. All artwork must be original in both content and execution, and created solely by the entering artist, without assistance from an instructor. Entries should be no more than two years old. The following media are eligible for entry: Traditional fine-arts media (oil, pastel, watercolor, casein, gouache, acrylic, encaustic, charcoal and other drawing media, collage, and mixed media, etc.). Photography and digital artwork will not be accepted. Sculpture, Craft arts such as quilting and other fabric arts, pottery, glass art, will not be accepted. The many emotions associated with this disease can both bring us together and tear us apart. Where there is loss there is anger, where there is strength there is support and where there is perseverance there is hope. In this call for art we want to see the many faces associated with The Big C. Calls are open to all local, domestic, national and international professional and amateur artists. All art mediums will be considered in this call for submissions, from photography, wall sculpture, fabric, mixed media, all paintings and drawings including, oil, acrylic, pastels, ink, graphite, etc. Sizes up to 12 feet are acceptable. Work must be able to be hung on a wall to be considered for the live exhibition. Freestanding 3D artworks will be displayed online only. We are now accepting video and poetry entries for online shows. Accepted entries for this online exhibition will be judged again in the coming months for a collective live exhibition at our Los Angeles gallery. The artists will be asked if they wish to submit their artwork for the collective exhibition, which is not a requirement to being a part of the online exhibition. Who or what is considered beautiful varies from person to person and culture to culture. Explore the variety of ways that beauty and it's interpretations exist in the world. We welcome all artist interpretations on this theme. All capture types and photographic processes are eligible to submit. JUROR - Kathleen ClarkKathleen Clark is the Director and Partner in SPOT Photo Works, in Los Angeles. Her varied background includes partnership in the former Clark/Oshin Gallery in Los Angeles. She was the longtime Photo Director of Los Angeles Magazine and LA Weekly where she received multiple awards for editorial photography. She has an MFA degree in studio art and photography, and served as faculty at Art Center College of Design and at the University of Southern California. She reviews portfolios for Photo Lucida, Review Santa Fe, FotoFest Houston, and Palm Springs Photo Festival among others. HONORS/AWARDS: With selection for this exhibition, the artists are invited to join C4FAP on the reception weekend for review with the juror, Kathleen Clark, and the Executive Director, Hamidah Glasgow. There will also be a group portfolio share and an artists’ lunch at C4FAP. An international audience of collectors, curators, art consultants and other advocates of fine art photography will view the chosen artist’s work throughout the exhibition. Winners will receive $3,000 in cash awards and be featured in a New York Gallery Show and on the NYC4PA Online Gallery. The Grand Prize winning image will be posted on the NYC4PA home page. It doesn’t matter if your original image was shot with Tri-X or with a digital SLR, if the end product is a terrific Black and White it fits the call. Sepia toned photography is welcome as well. DEADLINE NOVEMBER 24, 2014 - $2500 in Awards National Art Encounter Competition 2015 Contests, Juried Art Shows - Acrylic, Ceramics, Digital Media, Fiber, Drawing/Illustration, Mixed media, Sculpture, Oil, Pastel, Photography, Watercolor Art Organization The Naples Art Association at The von Liebig Art Center invites all artists residing in the United States to enter one original artwork in any media for the National Art Encounter Competition 2015. The fine art exhibition will be installed in the Frederick O. Watson Gallery at The von Liebig Art Center in Naples, Florida from March 14 through April 18, 2015. The von Liebig Art Center is located in the heart of the 5th Avenue South shopping, dining and entertainment district. Juror, Dr. Carol Damian, Professor of Art History in the School of Art and Art History and the Past Director and Chief Curator of the Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum at Florida International University. She is a graduate of Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts and received her Master of Arts degree in Pre-Columbian Art and her Ph.D. in Latin American History from the University of Miami. A specialist in Latin American and Caribbean Art, she teaches classes in Pre-Columbian, Colonial, Spanish and Contemporary Latin American Art, Modern Art surveys and Women in Art. Her most recent work has been with Latin American Women and the Cuban exile artists, for whom she has written numerous catalogs and articles. She is the author of The Virgin of the Andes: Art and Ritual in Colonial Cuzco (Grassfield Press, 1995) and is the Miami correspondent for Art Nexus and Arte al Dia. This exhibit invites artists to envision the mysteries of the universe, both scientific and fantastical, theoretical and fictional, real and imagined. How do artists render the work of scientists, authors, explorers, astronomers, cartoonists, Trekkies, LARPers, astrologers, and philosophers? This exhibit embraces not only what science has revealed about space, but what humans have imagined about the cosmos. From the results of scientific inquiry to the creative minds of science fiction authors and fans, this exhibit celebrates how space has stimulated human understanding and creativity. From the big bang theory to worm holes and warp speed, artists are invited to submit works that bring to life what we know of space and what we imagine. The goal is to assemble a vibrant and diverse selection of works that speak to our fascination with the cosmos. Each signifies change not only in our surroundings but within. The individual beauty of a particular season can be interpreted in numerous ways and for this call for entries we want to see your unique view. “Spring passes and one remembers one's innocence. Calls are open to all local, domestic, national and international professional and amateur artists. Work must be able to be hung on a wall to be considered for the live exhibition. Freestanding 3D artworks will be displayed online only. We are now accepting video and poetry entries for online shows. Accepted entries for this online exhibition will be judged again in the coming months for a collective live exhibition at our Los Angeles gallery. The artists will be asked if they wish to submit their artwork for the collective exhibition, which is not a requirement to being a part of the online exhibition. DEADLINE JANUARY 05, 2015 - $3000 in Awards Call to Artists - Cash Awards - Juried Exhibit Contests, Juried Art Shows - Acrylic, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Drawing/Illustration, Mixed media, Oil, Pastel, Photography, Watercolor Art Organization Embracing Our Differences is accepting submissions for its 12th annual outdoor juried art exhibit celebrating diversity and inclusion to be displayed April - May 2015 in Sarasota and Bradenton, FL USA. 39 artists will be selected and national and international submissions are encouraged. Since 2004, the exhibit has been viewed by almost 2,000,000 visitors. Final selections will be made by a 3-judge panel of art professionals. $3,000 (US) in awards will be presented. There is no submission fee nor limit on the number of entries. Submissions must be submitted online or postmarked no later than January 5, 2015.
