Japan Day @ Central Park is now preparing for Japan Day 2015, expected to be held in Central Park's Bandshell area in May 2015. We are thrilled to announce our 4th Annual "Japan Day Art Contest." The winning artwork will become the official image of Japan Day @ Central Park 2015 and will be used for our Official Poster, Program, Flyer and T-shirts. The grand prize winner will also receive a pair of round-trip Economy Class tickets to Japan, provided by ANA. Another delightful news is that Jazz Pianist Senri Oe, who is widely known in Japan and is now based in New York City, is joining the Japan Day Art Contest as one of our jurors. A special "Senri Award" will be presented to one of the entries, and the Senri Award winner will receive a special prize autographed by Senri Oe. In addition, several artists will receive honorable mentions. The grand prize winner, Senri Award winner, and all honorable mention winners will each receive a digital camera provided by Nikon Americas Inc. Moreover, their artwork will be displayed at an exhibition space on the 18th floor of the Consulate General of Japan in New York. The Beverly Hills Art Show is seeking artists to participate in the upcoming May 16th and 17th art event. This show is held in the center of Beverly Hills along four historic garden blocks. It attracts over 40,000 art lovers from the affluent west side of Los Angeles and adjacent areas, along with regional art dealers, and even out-of-state patrons who come to town specifically for this event. The atmosphere is collegial, casual, friendly and fun; yet the outdoor show caters to serious art shoppers, via an extensive advertising campaign. It is consistently highly rated by the major national publications that review outdoor art events across the country. We are particularly seeking artists whose genre is still life, although as always, artists who work in all genres and many media are welcome to apply. Nearly 250 artists will be accepted. It is a world without boundaries, real or imagined -- as unlimited as the photographer's imagination. This month, let your imagination run wild as 1650 Gallery explores the world of Abstract Photography! Open to all photographic methods and techniques, digital or analog, subject matter is unlimited; real or imagined -- recognizable or not! In this call for entries submit your best art that communicates any and everything Blue! Calls are open to all local, domestic, national and international professional and amateur artists. All art mediums will be considered in this call for submissions, from photography, wall sculpture, fabric, mixed media, all paintings and drawings including, oil, acrylic, pastels, ink, graphite, etc. Sizes up to 12 feet are acceptable. Work must be able to be hung on a wall to be considered for the live exhibition. Freestanding 3D artworks will be displayed online only. Contemporary Art Gallery Online announces their 1st Annual "ALL WOMEN" Online Art Competition for the month of March 2015. The gallery announces an international and national call for entries from artists to apply to this competition, by submitting their best representational and non-representational art. There is No Subject Theme for this Art Competition. But you need to be a WOMAN to participate. Contemporary Art Gallery Online encourages entries from all 2D and 3D artists regardless of their experience or education in the art field. A group exhibition of all entrants will be held online at the Contemporary Art Gallery Online during the month of March 2015, which is Women's month in the United States. In addition to the winning images, depending on the amount and the quality of the entries received, Honorable Recognition awards will also be presented.Prizes include Lifetime Memberships to Contemporary Art Gallery Online, Radio Interviews, Inclusion in the Year End Anthology Publication, Extensive Marketing and much more. 18th Annual NCS Postcard Show Call for Entries

The National Collage Society, Inc. is hosting its 18th Annual Postcard Show. The Postcard Show is a small format show where 100% of the work submitted by NCS Members is accepted. The Collage Postcard Show is an invitational exhibition open to all 2015 members of the NCS. All international artists are welcome to enter. All entries must be original and not have been previously shown in any NCS exhibit. Entry must be a collage. All work must be no larger or smaller than 4" x 6" and no more than 1/2" in depth. Portraits are an intimate view of the subject matter which, aim to present a description of the character, sentiment or identity of an individual or place. These visual clues about the subject are presented in various ways, such as, employing a particular technique or the application of varying media. In this call we want to see your artistic approach in presenting self-portraits or portraiture.Calls are open to all local, domestic, national and international professional and amateur artists. All art mediums will be considered in this call for submissions, from photography, wall sculpture, fabric, mixed media, all paintings and drawings including, oil, acrylic, pastels, ink, graphite, etc. Sizes up to 12 feet are acceptable. Work must be able to be hung on a wall to be considered for the live exhibition. Freestanding 3D artworks will be displayed online only. We are now accepting video and poetry entries for online shows.Accepted entries for this online exhibition will be judged again in the coming months for a collective live exhibition at our Los Angeles gallery. First Place $1500 -- Gallery Exhibit -- 140 images to be selected by Juror Thom Sempere, Executive Director of PhotoAlliance in San Francisco, CA. The show is open to all photographers and all forms of photographic expression are encouraged: from film-based to digital capture -- black and white darkroom to digital manipulation. NVAL offers several PRINTING/FRAMING OPTIONS allowing for Substantial Savings on exhibiting costs. JUROR: Thom Sempere, Executive Director of PhotoAlliance, has been actively involved in the photography community in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1977 as an artist, educator, curator and arts administrator. He is also currently a visiting faculty member at the San Francisco Art Institute and a lecturer in the Continuing Studies program at Stanford University, teaching photography. He was the curator of the Joseph and Elaine Monsen Collection of Photography, and later acted as Director of Education and Exhibitions at the Photographic Center Northwest. Subsequently, he worked ten years at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA). He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from San Francisco Art Institute and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Washington. His photographs are in the permanent collection at SFMOMA and have been exhibited in venues across the U.S.

INFOCUS, the photography support organization of Phoenix Art Museum invites emerging or early career photographers to apply for the INFOCUS Sidney Zuber Photography Award. The artist selected in this juried contest will receive an unrestricted cash award of $5000, a two-month exhibition of his/her artwork at Phoenix Art Museum, plus up to $1500 travel reimbursement to attend a reception May 20, 2015, in his/her honor at the Museum. The jurors may award Honorable Mention recognition to additional artists. Camera USA 2015: National Photography Award and Exhibition

Open to photographers residing in the USA who are shooting in the USA. Submit one photograph taken in the United States after January 1, 2011 for a bricks & mortar exhibition at The von Liebig Art Center in Naples, Florida. The National Photography Award of $5,000 cash will be given to one photographer. The winner will also receive two-nights hotel accommodations and round-trip air tickets to attend the preview reception on June 12, 2015. A winning photographer residing in the State of Florida will receive a $300 travel stipend in lieu of air travel. Three distinguished jurors will review all entries and nominate the National Photography Award Winner. The jurors are Harry Benson, Award Winning International Photojournalist; Patty Carroll, Professor, School of the Art Institute of Chicago; and Ariel Shanberg, Executive Director of the Center of Photography at Woodstock. The entry fee is $32 ($27 for current Naples Art Association members). The von Liebig Art Center is the home of the 61-year old Naples Art Association (NAA). The von Liebig Art Center is located Naples, Florida in the heart of the 5th Avenue South shopping, dining and entertainment district. The NAA presents changing exhibitions of contemporary art. Exhibitions are free and open to the public. Gallery hours during the Camera USA 2015 exhibition are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Camera USA 2015 exhibition will be on view from June 15 through July 17, 2015.

We are excited to announce our sixth annual national juried art show, Wide Open 6 and its prestigious juror—Rujeko Hockley, Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art at the Brooklyn Museum of Art. With her direction, we look forward to a really awesome show. $3000 in cash prizes will be awarded including $1000 Best in Show. The exhibit runs May 9 - June 14, 2015.
