Yosemite Renaissance is a juried fine art competition and exhibition on the landscape, environment, wildlife and people of Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. Both representational and non-representational submissions are accepted. Original artwork may be in any fine art medium including the following: painting (any medium); photography/digital; and other (all other two- and three-dimensional media, including drawings, pastels, printmaking, textiles, and all 3-dimensional works). The ways lights and shadows contribute to photographic meaning only depend on the imagination of the photographer. Contrast is a key component in making an image intriguing through opposing elements such as: shape, texture, color and luminosity to name a few. It can work to highlight or obscure elements within an image, guiding the viewers eye and/or interpretation of a piece. In this call for submissions we want to see your chosen technique(s) that demonstrate the effects of contrast at work!Calls are open to all local, domestic, national and international professional and amateur artists. All art mediums will be considered in this call for submissions, from photography, wall sculpture, fabric, mixed media, all paintings and drawings including, oil, acrylic, pastels, ink, graphite, etc. Sizes up to 12 feet are acceptable. Work must be able to be hung on a wall to be considered for the live exhibition. Freestanding 3D artworks will be displayed online only. We are now accepting video and poetry entries for online shows.Accepted entries for this online exhibition will be judged again in the coming months for a collective live exhibition at our Los Angeles gallery. The artists will be asked if they wish to submit their artwork for the collective exhibition, which is not a requirement to being a part of the online exhibition. The 7th National Juried Photography Exhibition Of Memory, Bone & Myth 2016 is organized by The University of North Dakota's Department of Art & Design and seeks photographs based on the interpretation of memory and myth. Open to any photographic medium, such as historical processes, traditional silver printing, chromogenic printing & digital process. All photographs must be framed no larger than 28" x 30". This exhibition is open to national artists of all levels (professional, emerging & students 18 years and over). There is no commission fee. On a sunny window sill, clinging precariously to a mountain crevice or pushing determinately through concrete. Prolific and fleeting, flowers reflect the divine in nature, words, dreams and paint. LithaMoonGallery, Greensboro, Georgia, is looking for 35-40 works in watercolour. The theme for the competition is flowers, gardens or woodland/meadow scenes where flowers are the dominant subject. Up to two paintings may be entered per contestant, and each painting may be represented by two separate images. The required first image must show the painting in its entirety from the front. The optional second image should show a detail view of the work, such as a closeup of the paint texture or the focal point of the painting. Please name each image with the painting title and artist name.Works must be submitted as a digital image in JPG format only. PowerPoint format is not accepted. Art is a powerful tool to evoke social change. Without uttering a single word, artists can enlighten, educate and effect change around the world. Embracing Our Differences invites all artists to be a part of this change through your submissions to its 13th annual outdoor juried art exhibit celebrating diversity and inclusion. Artists, photographers, professionals, amateurs, teachers, students – everyone can participate. 42 artists will be selected and national and international submissions are encouraged. The exhibit will be displayed April and May 2016 in Sarasota, FL USA. Since 2004, the exhibits have been viewed by more than 2,000,000 visitors. Final selections will be made by a three-judge panel of professional artists, curators and art professionals and based on artistic excellence and originality in the reflection of our theme "enriching lives through diversity." $3,000 (US) in awards will be presented. The Naples Art Association (NAA) is now accepting entries for its latest juried awards exhibition. The 51st Founders Juried Awards Exhibition is a biennial exhibition open to NAA members and artists joining the NAA. The fine-art exhibition will be installed in the von Liebig Art Center and will feature two and three-dimensional artwork in all media. The von Liebig Art Center is located in the heart of the 5th Avenue South shopping, dining and entertainment district in Naples, Florida. Three Jurors will review and score online entries for the exhibition and assigning $3,500 in cash awards. The jurors are Dr. Jill Deupi, Beaux Arts Director and Chief Curator of the Lowe Art Museum, University of Miami; Patrick McCaughey, Art Historian and former Director of the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford and the Yale Center for British Art in New Haven, Connecticut; and Morgan T. Paine, Associate Professor of Art at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida. Entry fee $29. Annual Naples Art Association memberships are $75. One of the benefits of membership is the opportunity to exhibit and sell artwork. Upcoming exhibition opportunities include Journeys Real or Imagined opening April 29, 2016, Pictures in Process opening June 20, 2016. Members receive a discounted entry fee for the annual national photography exhibition Camera USA opening on June 20, 2016 and may exhibit in the annual non-juried exhibition Your Choice opening on August 15, 2016.
