Invitation for Submissions from Artists
to participate in
‘La
Grande-Messe d’art’
Black & Blue
Festival 2013
in
Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Dear Sir/Madam,
It is our distinct pleasure to personally invite you, as a
well-renowned artist, to consider joining us in Montreal, Quebec,
Canada, from October 12-14th, 2013, for ‘La Grande-Messe d’art’ Black
& Blue, a new mega interactive artistic blow-out, happening
during the renowned Black & Blue Festival.
Culturally, “La Grande-Messe”
basically means in French an “All Encompassing Extravaganza”, and 2013
is the first year debut edition of this major multi-media artistic and
mixed entertainment component of the Festival. The literal translation
of Grande-Messe is: High-Mass.
This is to be a key novel special activity tied to the signature and
world-famous Black & Blue Festival of the BBCM Foundation,
which is a non-profit organization that has a long history of
organizing spectacular parties that raise essential funds and
provide other services that are contributed towards a variety of
community groups in the gay community and in the direct care
field of people living with HIV/AIDS.
We are thus exclusively inviting international artists like yourself to
participate and perform an original artistic creation at La
Grande-Messe d’art Black & Blue 2013! Please see the
following key elements of this official invitation listed below for
your consideration:
1) At La Grande-Messe d’art Black & Blue 2013, you will be
invited to perform a major large size artistic creation (during the
main event, on Sunday October 13, from approximately 11pm -
7am) of one of your original artworks, regardless of your chosen style
or medium, but the primary preference would be for visual artists using
paint on canvass.
2) All works of art created during the night will be included in a
silent auction where 50% of the final sale will be remitted to the
artist, and 50% to the BBCM Foundation.
3) A complimentary VIP Pass worth approx. 350$ will be provided to you
to attend the whole weekend of the Black & Blue Festival 2013,
which of course includes exclusive access to special VIP areas and
various
events.
4) The BBCM Foundation will be providing you a world-class,
one-of-a-kind spectacular venue at the crown
jewel of global circuit parties, the Black & Blue Festival Main
Event (for example, last yearʼs Main Event was held downtown at the
exquisite and massive Palais des Congrès de Montréal, and the previous
year it was held at the Olympic Stadium !).
5) You will receive exceptional exposure of you and your artwork /
performance to a wide range of festival
attendees who will be at this special event and potential media
coverage. Your name, photo, example of
previous work and web site will be published in the Black &
Blue souvenir magazine which comes out
approximately two weeks before the event and distributed to all VIP
guests and in all Festival venues.ion.
6) We are welcoming submissions from a wide-spectrum of artistic
disciplines, from a wide spectrum of
media: painting, sculpture, multi-media, drawing, graffiti, interactive
or stationary installations and digital
design / multi-media via projection(s). We are an open and inclusive
artistic environment whereby your vision and freedom to create and
perform artwork is essential to the theme of La Grande-Messe. That
being said, we hold the right to expel any art that is hateful,
libellous, discriminatory or otherwise deemed inappropriate by our
Committee.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this official
invitation, please let us know and we will do our best to assist you.
If you can please tentatively declare your involvement for this
activity before the grant deadline of January 11, 2013 please send us
an email with your name, website, your personal photo and a key image
of your artwork that you wish to represent. You can also confirm your
participation after January 11, at your convenience.
Thank you for your time and consideration with our official invitation
to you to join us next year and we look forward to your performance and
attendance!
Yours Sincerely,
Robert J. Vezina
