POSSIBLE ART CALL SCAM ALERT - Sakuraba Gallery

Published: Sat, 01/05/13

Dear Artist & Photographers,

It was recently brought to our attention that the Sakuraba
Art Gallery's 2013 International Artist Competition and
Exhibition might be a fake call where the owners are just
collecting submission fees. http://www.sakurabagallery.info

We have tried to contact the gallery owners after receiving several
complaints and have not received any response so we are now issuing
this alert.

If you have submitted to this call, we recommend that you contact
your credit card company to have the charges reversed.

Our Editorial staff works hard to review all of the submissions
that come through to TheArtList.com and weed out any calls that
might seem suspicious or even blatant scams. Unfortunately, we do
not have visibility into the inner workings of galleries and
business so every once in a while one will get past us.

Luckily these are few and far between and most of the time any
complaints received are due to exhibition directors poorly managing
their calls or not responding in a timely manner to artists who
have submitted.

That said, we always recommend that artists do their own due
diligence before submitting to any calls, especially with regards
to international calls or located outside of the U.S.

Please pass this on to other artists and photographers.
