1650 Gallery is now
accepting submissions for the juried exhibition THE ART OF INSTAGRAM.
Instagram is an exciting new vehicle giving the next generation of
photographers a network to showcase their work. This month we are
looking to bring this cloud-based world of Instagram offline and on
display in the physical world.
The competition is open to any photo that is published on Instagram.
Any subject matter is eligible. There are no rules. We are looking for
the best of what Instagrammers have to offer. If you think you've
created some amazing photos on Instagram you're probably right! And we
want to see.
Approximately fifty works will be chosen to be included in the THE
ART
OF INSTAGRAM exhibition at 1650 Gallery in the Echo Park
neighborhood
of Los Angeles. Additional works may also be selected for an online
gallery exhibition page.
There is an entry fee of
$15 for up to 4 images. Additional entries may be submitted for $5 each.
All
accepted entries will be displayed at 1650 Gallery exhibition and
included in the show catalog. Artists supply their own artwork.
Instagram pics should be printed 4.75" x 4.75". We offer free matting
and framing for the duration of the show. We will print your photo for
a nominal fee if you are accepted into the show and would prefer not to
mail a print.
Juror:
Andrew Overtoom. Andrew is an award winning filmmaker and photographer
living in Los Angeles. He publishes THE UNDEAD NEG photography blog and
is currently launching a quarterly fine art photography journal. He is
also the owner/curator of 1650 Gallery in the Echo Park neighborhood of
Los Angeles.
Selected artists may choose to offer their work for sale. The gallery
retains 50% of the sale price, as well as 8.75% California sales tax.
