The 28th Texas & Neighbors
Regional Art Exhibition
Call
for Entries - Deadline: February 5th, 2013
This prestigious five-state competition pulls entries representative of
the the best of American art! It is an honor simply to be hung in this
show. The Texas & Neighbors Regional Art Exhibition is open to
all artists 18 and older living in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, New
Mexico and Oklahoma. Up to three works of art may be entered by an
artist for an entry fee of $40 ($35 for IAA members). Approximately
$8.000 in prizes!
The judge who juries the show from submitted images and then selects
the winning works of art in person is an artist of national standing or
a prominent expert in art. The show is hung in the prestigious Gallery
of the Irving Arts Center, cosponsor of Texas & Neighbors, for
a month in the spring.
The Irving Art Association was established in 1956 in Irving, Texas.
IAA is one of the oldest cultural organizations in Irving and is
conservator of the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts, a two-gallery
building nestled in a lovely park setting with flowers, trees,
shrubbery, and a duck pond.
ELIGIBILITY
Open to all artists 18 and older and legal residents of
Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
SELECTION
& AWARDS OVER $8,000 IN PRIZE MONEY!
Each artist may enter up to 3 works. Only one work by each
accepted artist will be exhibited. Awards will be selected at
the discretion of the juror as follows:
- Best of Show -
$1500
- IAC Award of
Excellence - $1000
- Chairman’s
Choice - $750
- Each of the 4
categories:
- 1st - $500 •
2nd - $400 • 3rd-$300
- Honorable
Mention - $100
ARTWORK
REQUIREMENTS
Two-Dimensional works must classify in one of FOUR CATEGORIES:
- Oil or Acrylic
on canvas.
- Water media on
paper.
- Mixed media -
The use of two or more mediums, collage, calligraphy, hand-pulled
prints. Collage must incorporate two-dimensional, selfcreated elements.
No 3-dimensional objects, including found objects.
- Drawing
- includes Pastel, Color Pencil, Graphite, Ink,
Silver, Gold, Conté Crayon, etc.
- Submitted
works of art must be two-dimensional originals completed within the
last two years without instructor supervision. Work must not
be a copy of other artist’s work (including reference photographs).
JUROR
JILL
PANKEY’s motivation to be an artist and the ongoing
exploration of
color began with growing up along the border of Del Rio. Her talent has
enveloped her career as a Creative Professional - Designer,
Illustrator, Choreographer and Painter since 1975. Jill has garnered
teaching honors, awards and grants to pursue creative development. She
has earned her MFA in painting, MAIS in Art, Education & Public
Administration, and BA in Art Education. Her work
is shown nationally

SALES
All
sales from this show will be handled through the Irving Art
Association. IAA requires a 20% commission on all sold paintings. The
artist is liable for all taxes and commissions on these
sales. All
sales due on or before MAY 26, 2013 and payable to the Irving
Art
Association.
FEES
Entry fee of $40 allows up to 3 entries per artist made payable to
Irving Art Association. Members of the Irving Art Association receive
$5 off entry fee. ALL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
