Update on Sakuraba Gallery Call
Published: Mon, 01/07/13
We finally heard back from the Sakuraba Gallery after several days
and emails and it looks like this might just be a case of a very poorly
managed call as opposed to an outright scam.
Here is the note we received:
"I would like to first say that of course this accusation is
false. Rumors can burn wildly with angry runner-ups and the
ultimately limited number of slots available. We also experienced
some trouble receiving artist's image via email
(being sent directly to spam).
But after this, I understand if an artist would no longer like to
be considered for participation. It has never been our intention to
hurt artists.
Please let the artists know they can email the gallery *directly* at
sakuraba.gallery@gmail.com. I will be happy to refund their entry fee
immediately, instead of waiting on a claim via PayPal, and then I
will formally withdraw their application. I want to make everyone
satisfied as soon as possible.
I am deeply sorry for any distress this has caused anyone.
Thank you for your understanding.
Yukiko Sakuraba"
We hope this helps clear everything up and also provides a contact
for those who would like their submission refunded.
