2013 International Women's Call for Entry
Application Deadline: March 31st, 2013
PWP
invites women photographers working in all mediums, processes, styles,
and schools of thought to our Spring 2013 Call for Entry.
JULIE SAUL, owner and director of the Julie Saul Gallery in Manhattan
will award $5,000 in cash, plus an article in IMPRINTS Magazine, and
valuable prizes from Datacolor, global leader in color calibration
technology. Selected images will appear in a one-year online exhibition
on the PWP website.
CATEGORIES:
Winners will be selected in each of the following four categories:
- People
- Places
- Fine Art
- Digital
Imagination (Composites, Abstracts, etc.)
EXHIBITION AND AWARDS:
- Grand
Prize: One photographer will receive $1,000, plus a
Datacolor Spyder4PRO color calibration system and SpyderCube raw
calibration tool ($225 value.) Her image and interview will be featured
in the Summer 2013 issue of IMPRINTS Magazine, and will be exhibited
for
one year on PWP’s online gallery.
- First
Prizes: 4 photographers (one in each category) will receive
$500, plus a Datacolor SpyderCHECKR PRO camera calibration system ($139
value.) Their selected images will appear in the Summer 2013 issue of
IMPRINTS Magazine, and will be exhibited for one year on PWP’s online
gallery.
- Second
Prizes: 4 photographers (one in each category) will receive
$300. Their selected images will appear in the Summer 2013 issue of
IMPRINTS Magazine, and will be exhibited for one year on PWP’s online
gallery.
- Third
Prizes: 4 photographers (one in each category) will receive
$200. Their selected images will appear in the Summer 2013 issue of
IMPRINTS Magazine, and will be exhibited for one year on PWP’s online
gallery.
- Jurors’
Selections: These 20 images will appear in the Summer 2013
issue of IMPRINTS Magazine, and will be exhibited for one year on PWP’s
online gallery.
- Honorable
Mention: 60 additional images will be exhibited for one year
on PWP’s online gallery.
ELIGIBILITY:
This Call for Entries is open worldwide to ALL WOMEN PHOTOGRAPHERS;
NON-MEMBERS AND MEMBERS OF PWP, AMATEUR AND PROFESSIONAL. PWP invites
women photographers working in all mediums, styles, and schools of
thought to participate. Experimental and mixed techniques are welcome.
ENTRY FEE:
The entry fee is $35 for the first three images. Additional images may
be submitted for $10 each. The same image may be submitted to more than
one category, however, if the same image is submitted to a second
category, it counts as an additional submission.
Note: Images selected by jurors for exhibition by PWP in previous
international calls for entry are not eligible. Images previously
submitted but not yet selected for exhibition may be resubmitted as
often as you wish.
JUROR:
Julie Saul has owned and directed the Julie Saul Gallery since 1992,
representing artists from all generations working in contemporary
photographic based art, from traditional to avant-garde. In addition to
its roster of photographers who have been with the gallery since the
beginning, Julie Saul Gallery regularly premiers emerging artists from
all over the world.
Julie has curated several thematic shows that have traveled to museums,
including John Cocteau: The Mirror and the Mask, Constructing Images:
Synapse Between Photography and Sculpture, Shooting the Moon: A Survey
of Moon Photographs from the Invention of Photography to the Present,
Skin/Deep: A Survey of Interior Imaging from X-Ray to MRI and more
recently When Color was New: Vintage Photographs from Around the 1970s.
