Gallery 14
invites artists working in all photographic media to submit works for a
juried photographic exhibition which will be held from July 12 through
August 11 at Gallery 14, 14 Mercer Street, Hopewell NJ, 08525. The
exhibit is open to all excluding current members of Gallery 14.

A. Somers - MA, Art History, Rutgers University, New
Brunswick, NJ, BA, Art History, George Washington University,
Washington, DC
Katherine has been an independent consultant in the fine arts since
1995. She is currently curator for the Bernstein Gallery at the Woodrow
Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton
University. She has also recently been a consultant to the Princeton
University Art Museum in Campus Arts and to the Borough of Princeton on
public art. She earned degrees in art history from Rutgers University
and George Washington University.
Somers is an experienced curator, who was the director for the
Sculpture Project and Fine Art Exhibition Program at The Gallery at
Bristol-Myers Squibb's corporate headquarters in Lawrenceville, NJ,
from 2000 to 2006. She has been a consultant to other corporate and
public collections and has acted as a consultant to artists' estates.
Her work has included art historical research, cataloguing, restoration
and development for exhibition, internet auctions, and book
publications. Her writing has included an essay in "Daily Bread", an
artist book by Lisa Salamandra, by Cheminements Editions (2009), as
well as numerous exhibition catalog introductions for artists and art
groups including Amy Oliver, Hetty Baiz, Jim Perry and the art group
MOVIS.
Submission Guidelines
Submit up to 5 JPEG images (4" x 6" at 300 dpi.) on one CD only (no
other submissions will be considered). Be sure to write your name on
the CD as well. Also on the CD, include a text document with your name,
home address, phone number and email address along with a brief
biography/resume, and a numbered list of the 5 photographs submitted.
The text list and the titles of the photograph files on the CD must
correspond exactly in number and name. Use this format for titling your
electronic files: your name_ number_ photo title_ framed dimensions.
For example: SmithJ_1_Evening on the River_16x20.
Mail submissions to Gallery 14, c/o Larry Parsons, 107 Random Rd,
Princeton, NJ 08540. All submissions must include an entry fee of $25
check, payable to Gallery 14. You may also bring your cd submission to
the gallery during our regular hours: Saturdays and Sundays, 12:00 noon
to 5 p.m. Please, include a stamped self-addressed envelope if you wish
to have your CD returned.
All entrants will be notified of the juror's decision by email after
June 19. Photographs selected for exhibit must be brought to the
Gallery ready for hanging on July 6 or 7 from noon to 5 PM. Accepted
works may be mailed to the gallery, but they must arrive by July 5, and
you must provide packaging, postage, and labeling for their return.
Images must be the same as those that were accepted. We reserve the
right to reject images of poor print quality. Size of framed prints
must correspond exactly to the size stated in your submission with a
longest frame dimension of 28 inches, no exceptions.
Gallery 14 will make every reasonable effort to protect your work while
it is in our possession, but will not be legally responsible for it.
Insure your work individually if that is a concern.
The Gallery will receive a 30% commission if your work sells while on
display at the Gallery.
