Entry Deadline: July 1. The Third Coast National is a non-thematic, juried exhibition of new works of art from across the USA. We are simply looking for innovative contemporary artwork. This fall, he presented a major solo exhibition titled "attainable excellence" at AMOA-Arthouse in Austin, Texas. This exhibition was organized by the Blaffer Museum in Houston, and opened there in May 2013. Coolquitt is currently an artist-in-residence at 21er Haus in Vienna, Austria, and will open an exhibition there in July, 2013. He is represented by Lisa Cooley in New York, and Galerie Krinzinger in Vienna.Eligibility: Artists age 18+ living in USA. Original works of art (in any fine art media) not previously exhibited at KSC and completed within the past 2 years. All works must be for sale. KSC retains 40% commission. 2013 Images from a Glass Eye International Juried Photography Show

Entry is open to artists residing in the U.S. Artists working in 2D or 3D media and presenting works in any style, from abstract to representational. Work should demonstrate a strong emphasis in formal design concepts, such as the elements of form, line, value, texture, composition, and color, and/or the principles of repetition, rhythm, balance, proportion, and variety. While digital images will be considered, works using non-digital mediums are desired. Photographic works are not eligible, however, photographers may enter the 2013 Photography Exhibition on this same website. Wall pieces may not exceed 48" width and 72" height. 3D floor/pedestal pieces may not exceed 5ft in any direction. Assembled works may not exceed 50lbs. in weight. For this juried group photo show Black Box Gallery will look at what is the possible diversity, complexity/simplicity and visual impact of contemporary color photography. How do photographers use color to captivate, compose and stylize their subjects? There is a strong tradition of color photographers from William Eggleston, Steven Shore, Nan Golden, Andres Gursky, Jeff Wall, William Cristenberry, Cindy Sherman, Annie Liebovitz and Gregory Crewdson. Juror: Todd Johnson - Todd Johnson is the Director of Black Box Gallery. He earned his MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute. His work has been exhibited nationally in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Minneapolis, San Francisco and Portland Oregon. His work has been written about and reviewed in The Washington Post, The Oregonian, and online in Portland Art News. He has worked for The Portland Art Museum, Portland Institute for Contemporary Art, The Art Gym at Marylhurst University, Reed College and Portland Commuity College. He has been an active photographer, educator and curator for over twenty years.

While ceramics have been used for both practical and aesthetic reasons for thousands of years, the medium has experienced an amazing renaissance among artists in the past decade. Today ceramics are integrated into contemporary art. This call for entry seeks the most innovative and experimental works that also reveal expertise and skill in fabrication. Entries will be juried by David Revere McFadden, Chief Curator, Museum of Arts & Design, who will also select the recipients of $1500 in cash awards. Artists working in clay, 18 years and older, who reside or work in the New York City Region are eligible to enter. Accepted work must be hand delivered to the BWAC gallery on the Red Hook waterfront in Brooklyn, NY and assembled/installed by the artist. The exhibition opens on September 21 and closes on October 20, 2013. All work must be handcrafted by the artist from raw clay. Acceptable forms include sculpture, wall hangings and installations. The artwork cannot be functional -- production work and commercially manufactured pieces are not acceptable. Mixed media is acceptable as long as clay is the dominant component of the piece (at least 75%). All work must be original in concept, design and execution. Entry Fees: Early Bird Submissions through July 8, $45 for up to 5 images and $5 each additional image; after July 8, $65 for up to 5 images and $5 each additional image.

Entries will be juried by Marshall N. Price, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, National Academy Museum in NYC. ~100 pieces will be selected for exhibition in our Civil War-era warehouse gallery on the Red Hook waterfront in Brooklyn, NY, from September 21 - October 10, 2013. Our gallery space is very large and large work is welcome. The $3000 in cash awards include two Bests in Show, a People's Choice, a Curator's Choice and ten honorable mentions. Paintings are much like literature: they are meant to captivate the imagination, delight the senses, and to transport to a far away place. For this call for entries, we’re looking for artwork that tells a story- as if it were a snippet of some larger narrative. This does not mean artwork derived from common fables or popular books, but rather your own fact or fiction, your own unique fable or story. All international artists, professional and amateur and all art mediums will be considered in this call for entries from photography to wall sculpture, fabric, mixed media, all paintings and drawings including, oil, acrylic, pastels, ink, graphite, etc. Work must be able to be hung on a wall to be considered. Sizes up to 12 feet are acceptable. Video submissions will be displayed online only. Accepted entries for this online exhibition will be judged again for a collective live exhibition at our Pasadena Gallery. The artists will be asked if they wish to submit their artwork for the collective exhibition, which is not a requirement to being a part of the online exhibition. For this call for entries, we’re looking for art that deals with mental states from love, infatuation, and happiness to mental disorders, fear, phobias, and anger. Anything that the mind produces in terms of subconscious reactions, emotions and conditions, we want to see your interpretation of it in visual terms.All international artists, professional and amateur and all art mediums will be considered in this call for entries from photography to wall sculpture, fabric, mixed media, all paintings and drawings including, oil, acrylic, pastels, ink, graphite, etc. Work must be able to be hung on a wall to be considered. Science and math-based art demonstrates scientific or mathematical concepts, principles, or phenomena in creative ways. It can be created digitally using computers, be photographic, or be produced through traditional fine arts methods including drawing, painting, pottery, fiber arts, etc. The contest will be free to enter, and all entries are entered by uploading a digital representation of the artwork onto the contest website. Entries will be accepted through July, and will be reviewed and posted to a gallery on the website as they are received to allow for viewing and voting. Contest winners and awards will be announced and a live exhibit will take place in conjunction with the Next Big Idea Festival on Saturday September 14th. More than $2500 in prizes will be awarded. The inaugural competition last year netted more than 900 entries from throughout the world and prizes winners shared thousands of dollars in cash prizes. Photography 2013: Inventing Perspective

Entry is open to artists residing in the U.S. Scale and perspective are pervasive issues in the realm of fine art photography. This year's photography competition seeks experimental woks using the photographic medium that challenges our ideas of relative scale and perspective, as well as integrated use of other media in unique and creative ways. Epic panoramic, pinhole and photogram, photo-transfers, 3D photographic sculpture or objects, installation, high speed, time-lapse and frozen-in-time images, as well as infrared and HDR photography, are just some of the means photographers may use to create dynamic works using the photographic medium. Analog and digital photographs are both eligible and may be used with any other medium. All photographs must be the original work of the photographer entering the competition. Note: the Gallery has a 22ft extended ceiling with mounts that may be accessed for installation. Digital enhancements should be noted in the materials section of the on-line application. Fine art photography images should emphasize unique composition, pattern, shape, and color/contrast. Works may not exceed 48" width and 60" height including frame. Artists wanting to submit an installation may discuss size and other installation specifications with the Gallery Director. Embracing Our Differences is accepting submissions for its 11th annual outdoor art exhibit celebrating diversity to be displayed during April - May 2013 in Sarasota, FL USA. Since 2004, the exhibit has been viewed by more than 1,650,000 visitors. Final selections will be made by a 3-judge panel of art professionals. A total of $3,000 (US) in awards will be presented.
