2011 Residency Opportunities at Elsewhere Collaborative Art Space

Elsewhere invites creative individuals in all disciplines and from all walks of life to join us in building a living museum from a former thrift store that contains a 58-year collection of objects and materials. These objects and materials, as well as the space itself, comprise the permanent but evolving environment wherein residents create their work. Our residency and fellowship programs are very unique in both their demands and their rewards.

The past residencies at Elsewhere have been filled with writers, visual artists, musicians, sound artists, performance artists and anthropologists, but we hope to include individuals and groups in all disciplines and from all walks of life. Perhaps you are a culinary artist, a carpenter, an urban farmer, a historian or documentarian, an architect or designer. If you have a vision and a desire to experiment and explore within a community then Elsewhere may be the place for you.

Our residency year begins March 15 and ends November 8. We collect completed applications on December 1, 2010. We book for the entire year based on the applications received by the December 1 deadline. The average residency lasts between 3-4 weeks. The cost of residency is $300 USD payable upon acceptance.

Application Deadline: December 1, 2010
