Fellowship Opportunities for 2011 at Elsewhere Collaborative Art Space
In 2011, Elsewhere offers residency-based funding opportunities in the form of Fellowships. These fellowships are for individuals or collectives who wish to produce work that engages that reflects the unique environment of Elsewhere while engaging the Greesnboro.
Past fellowships at Elsewhere have been filled with sculptors, mixed media artists, performance artists and arts educators, but we hope to include individuals and groups in all disciplines and from all walks of life. If you have a vision and an openness to experiment and explore within a community then Elsewhere may be the place for you.
We offer seven fellowship opportunities (one per month) over the course of the season, for fellows to teach workshops to local communities. In exchange for the fellowship funds, fellows design and implement one public workshop (3 hours) related to their work and process during the course of their stay. These workshops take place in the museum or in the broader community. Elsewhere will facilitate outreach to the specific communities in which the workshops are conducted.
Our fellowship year begins April 1 and ends October 31. We collect completed applications until 5 PM on December 1, 2010. We book for the entire year based on the applications received by the December 1 deadline. Fellowships are for a full month from the beginning of the assigned month until the end.
Our fellowships provide travel to Elsewhere, project support, and room and board. Please feel free to contact us at residencies@elsewhereelsewhere.org to inquire about the funding status of the upcoming fellowships.
Application Deadline: December 1, 2010
