Convozine February Photography Challenge - Call For Entries
The Assignment:
Dust off your lenses, grab your tripod and head out in search of an image that embodies your vision for the theme "The Last Place". As always, it is up to you to decide what that means. Images of desolation, an object that is lost or ignored, or something else entirely. We want to see creative and unique explorations of the theme.
Tell us a bit about your entry when you post it. What gear were you using? What insights do you have on how your image portrays the contest theme? Were there any challenges that you overcame in capturing the image, and if so, how did you accomplish that? Why did you choose the particular image that you entered? Unlike the previous photo challenge, each entry in this contest will be a single image so we encourage you to pay attention to lighting, composition and framing to create a strong, singular photograph.
Our editorial team will be paying special attention to technical proficiency, artistic merits, creativity in the application of the theme and the quality and insightfulness of the supporting text. We want to understand the process you went through to create your entry.
Because this is a photography challenge, we are limiting post-processing to things that you can normally accomplish in the darkroom. Tone, brightness and contrast and dodge and burn are all fair game, but composting multiple elements from different images into a single image or painting out elements within the frame is off-limits. Focus on capturing the best image you can in-camera.
Entries begin now. Voting runs through February 28th, 2011.
Limit: four entries per person.
Winners will be announced on March 3rd, 2011. Prizes:
First, second and third place prizes will be awarded by our editorial team, based on overall creativity and artistic merit.

- Second Place: US$300
- Third Place: US$200
- People's Choice
The people's choice prizes goes to the entry that have been given the greatest number of awards by other Convozine users. The winner in this category will receive US$500
