1650 Gallery
is hosting the juried photography exhibition ON THE ROAD: The
Ever-Present Presence of the Automobile...
More and more, the automobile surrounds us. So ubiquitous they often go
unseen by the mind's eye. Our constant companions, they share the ups
and downs of the human experience with us. Sometimes trusted friend,
sometimes fatal foe, but always almost obsessively by our side. This
time 1650 welcomes your insights on the role of the automobile as
symbiotic sidekick to humankind. Photographic greats such as Stephen
Shore, William Eggleston, Alfred Steiglitz and Elliot Erwitt have all
documented the connection between man and his 4 wheeled machine, the
inescapable icon of our times. Now it is your turn!
Juror: Antoine Guilbaud
Antoine Guilbaud is a Los Angeles based filmmaker, photographer, writer
and
automobile expert.
