EXPOSED: THE CONTEMPORARY NUDE
Art never tires of the nude.
Photographic fads and styles come and go, but the nude, as a form of
artistic expression, always remains fresh. From Alfred Stieglitz to
Robert Mapplethorpe, from Edward Weston to Diane Arbus the nude never
fails to captivate us.
This month
1650 Gallery welcomes your renditions of the photographic nude.
Juror: Tricia
Noble
Ms. Noble
is a photographer, artist
and graphic designer for the Directors Guild of America. She started
her career in the arts studying art history and fine art which has
given her a strong appreciation for the nude as an artform, both
classical and modern. She is also the co-director of 1650 Gallery.
There is an entry fee of $25 for up to 5 images. Additional entries may
be submitted for $5 each.
25 to 30
works will be chosen from submitted photographs to be included in the
EXPOSED exhibition at 1650 Gallery in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los
Angeles. Additional works may also be selected for an online gallery
exhibition page.
Selected
artists may choose to offer their work for sale. The gallery retains
40% of the sale price, as well as 9.25% California sales tax. We offer
free matting and framing for accepted photographs that fit our pre-cut
mat sizes for the duration of the exhibition.
Accepted
artists may also choose to sell their works through our online sales
gallery in addition to the regular gallery space. Please inquire!
