SKYWARD
The World Above Us
Looking up at the world is always better than looking down on
everything. This month 1650 Gallery is taking this advice to heart --
literally... with the new photography exhibition "SKYWARD: The World
Above Us." The exhibit is open to all forms of photography, traditional
or modern. We want to see your take on all things above us, be it
clouds, sunsets, sky, signage, aircraft, high-tension wire or
high-rises... as long as it lives above our heads it's eligible.
LOOK UP AMERICA! LOOK UP! This month the sky's the limit at 1650
Gallery...
Approximately fifty works will be chosen from submitted photographs to
be included in the SKYWARD exhibition at 1650 Gallery in the Echo Park
neighborhood of Los Angeles. Additional works may also be selected for
an online gallery exhibition page.
There is an entry fee of $25 for up to 5 images. Additional entries may
be submitted for $5 each.
All accepted entries must submit a high res jpeg (300-360 dpi , minimum
size 5x7") to be included in the printed SHOW CATALOG.
We offer free matting and framing for accepted photographs that fit our
pre-cut mat sizes for the duration of the exhibition. Precut mat sizes
are 11x14" mats with an 8x10" window, or 16x20" mats with an 11x14"
window and 20x24 mats with a 16x20 window.
We will also print your photo for a nominal fee if you are accepted
into the show and would prefer not to mail a print..
Selected
artists may choose to offer their work for sale. The gallery retains
50% of the sale price, as well as 8.75% California sales tax. We offer
free matting and framing for accepted photographs that fit our pre-cut
mat sizes for the duration of the exhibition.
Accepted artists may also choose to sell their works through our online
sales gallery in addition to the regular gallery space. Please inquire!
