National Juried Competition 2012
Call for Artists -
Deadline: May 12th, 2012The
6th Majestic National Juried Competition 2012 is organized byMajestic
Galleries of Nelsonville, OH. This
year's juror is Ken Emerick, Director of the Individual Artists and
Percent for Arts Programs at the Ohio Arts
Council (OAC). A graduate of Otterbein College, his
responsibilities include administering the OAC
Individual Excellence Awards, and managing a number of artist residency
programs funded by the OAC. He
has been a juror for numerous awards and exhibitions for various Ohio
arts organizations, colleges and
universities. Emerick received the 2011 Outstanding
for service to the field.
AWARDS: Cash
prizes for first, second and third places in the amounts of $400, $200
and $100, plus several
honorable mention awards.
ELIGIBILITY: The
competition is open to all artists age 18 and older living and working
in the United States or Canada.
Submit original work produced in the last 2 years. All media and
processes accepted, including drawing,
painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, ceramics, textiles, new
media, electronic and
interactive, installation, and video (looped on DVD).
ENTRY FEE: There
is a nonrefundable entry fee of $35 per artist for a maximum of three
works per individual. Make checks
or money orders payable to Majestic Galleries.
Majestic Galleries is a community
cooperative gallery supporting excellence in the arts through the
display
of innovative contemporary work.
