Call for Artists - Deadline: May 11th, 2012Lewiston
Council on the Arts announces a call to artists for a juried
art competition on Aug 11 & 12, 2012
in the
historic Village of Lewiston, NY. Over 25,000 people will
attend this much anticipated outdoor festival, which attracts art
lovers from Western New York, Southern Ontario and international
visitors from Niagara Falls, 10 minutes away. The charming streets of
picturesque Lewiston are lined with bakeries, coffee houses, shops and
galleries.
This year, our internationally known Featured Artists include: Rosemary
Hill (beadwork), Simon Brascoupé (painting), and Karen Hodge-Russell
(textiles).
Don't miss the the 27th Annual KeyBank Chalk Walk
Competition, where teams of high school students compete by creating
spectacular chalk murals on the street. Discover an up and coming young
artist at College Alley, which features student art work. Create your
own masterpiece at ArtZone and the Make & Take Workshops
sponsored
by the Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University. Bring the whole
family for a weekend of art, music, food, street performers, workshops,
and demonstrations.
Open to all living artists. Artist demonstrations during the Art
Festival are encouraged and highlighted in the event program.
Center Street becomes pedestrian only for this two day festival. Rain
or shine. No admission charge. Free parking. Complimentary Artist
Awards Breakfast on Sunday morning.
