Call for Entries - Deadline: April 15th 2012Art
on the Grand is a juried, fine arts show located right on
Grand River Avenue in downtown Farmington, MI. Last year's show
attracted over 100 talented artists from around the country.
Despite the current state of the economy, this great fair has
experienced an overwhelmingly positive response from participating
artists, visitors, and the city governments. Farmington is a beautiful
town surrounded by the larger City of Farmington Hills, located in
Oakland County, the richest county in Michigan. This art fair
is for you; with one of the nation's highest SEV's, Farmington and
Farmington Hills vigorously support the arts, and welcome you to our
community!
Artist Info - Jury Requirements - How To ApplyArt
on the Grand is open to all artists and fine craftspeople. All artwork
must be hand-made by the applying artist. No kits, molds, or resale of
items will be allowed; no mass-produced items. Prints of original work
are allowed.
Application ProcessArtists
may apply beginning October 31st on ZAPP at www.zapplication.org.
There is a $20 non-refundable application fee due with application. We
strongly urge you to apply through ZAPP; however, we will accept
applications by mail. If applying via mail, please include a $25 check
(non-refundable application fee) made payable to Farmington Hills
Special Services. Send to: Art on the Grand, Cultural Arts Division,
28600 W 11 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills, MI 48336. Jpegs of
artwork are also encouraged for mail-in applications rather than
slides/photos; send to: ncoumoundouros@fhgov.com. Application
Deadline is: April 15, 2012, midnight.
Jurying ProcessAll
artists work will be juried. A minimum of three (3) representative
photos or jpegs of artwork are required with application. Please
include a booth shot if possible.
Jurying will take place on April 17, 2012.
Artists will be notified of acceptance, waitlist
or declined status via
phone or email by: April 20, 2012.
Detailed instructions, maps, area information, etc.,
will be mailed to artists upon acceptance. Festival officials have the
right to exclude any work failing to match that which was submitted
with application, or is deemed unsuitable.
Booth FeesBooth
fees are $275 for an 11x11 tent site, $300 for a corner site. Final
decision on corner booth assignments will be made by the jury; please
do not pay for a corner booth unless it has been confirmed!
Booth fees
for accepted artists are due by May 11, 2012, and may be
conveniently
paid online through ZAPP or by check to: Farmington Hills Special
Services.
Display, Setup & DemonstrationArtists
must provide their own means of displaying items in an 11'x11' (outside
dimension) space on pavement. Tents must be held down by weights.
Electricity is not available; artists who wish to light their booths
are encouraged to bring battery operated lights. Displays must remain
during all festival hours, except in the case of extremely inclement
weather. Setup begins on Friday evening, June 1st and will resume on
Saturday morning. All booths must be set up by 10:00 am on Saturday,
June 2. Public hours are 10 am - 8 pm on
Saturday and 11 am - 6 pm on Sunday. Ongoing demonstrations
are encouraged.
