About the Juror: DeWitt Cheng is a San Francisco-based art critic who writes for Art Ltd., Artillery, Sculpture, Huffington Post, Visual Art Source, East Bay Express and DeWittCheng.com. He has degrees in art history and studio art, and does freelance writing and curating.The Village Theatre Art Gallery is located in the Town of Danville which is situated in the East Bay of Northern California. International Juried Show To Celebrate All Forms of Digital Art! DIGITAL ARTS: CALIFORNIA invites digital artists and photographers worldwide to submit works for “Wide Open Digital,” a juried digital-arts exhibit that will celebrate every form of digital art, including digital painting/illustration, photo manipulation, 3D still digital art, light painting, fractals, vector art, HDR photography, 3D computer-generated imagery, digital college, "glitch" work, and generative art. This exhibit will be held both online AND in a physical gallery in Los Angeles, San Diego, or another California art center. Works selected by our expert jurors as finalists will be showcased in solo, online galleries, each devoted to only one artist or photographer. These galleries will remain online for seven months. Top award-winners will also appear in a physical-gallery show. An example of a solo online gallery in our current show can be seen at our prospectus link.We use a broad definition of "digital art": any work whose creation or presentation involves a digital process that enhances the work. Projekt30 is seeking submissions for our next publicly juried show. All work is presented online prior to the exhibition, visitors select the 30 winners. The exhibition will be publicized to our extensive list of galleries, collectors, etc, all contributors receive great exposure. As of Nov. 2011 over 300,000 messages have been sent to previous participants.Projekt30 is an organization dedicated to promoting artists. UncommonGoods is now hosting monthly design challenges. This month, we are accepting submissions for an iPhone case design challenge. The requirements are quite liberal; artists are welcome to submit any 2-D art (including works from their pre-existing portfolios). We are not looking for art on a specific subject. Instead, we are encouraging submissions that tell a story and express creative individuality.The winner will receive $500 plus a commission on sales. SlowExposures 2012 - Tenth Anniversary Annual Juried Exhibition Celebrating Photography of the Rural

You are invited to submit photographs for the Tenth Anniversary SlowExposures Photography Exhibition in Pike County, Georgia (one hour South of Atlanta’s Hartsfield Jackson airport). Successful images will capture those qualities that call to mind the rural American South with its unique sense of place, diversity, contradictions and complexity. Our 2012 jurors are Brett Abbott, Photography Curator of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta and Julian Cox, Founding Curator of Photography of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. They will select up to 90 images in a blind jury process. You may enter up to six (6) images online. All work must be original to the artist and have been photographed within the past four (4) years. An entry fee of $50 must accompany online entry and may be paid through credit card or PayPal. The entry deadline is midnight June 15th and the show will be open from September 21 – 30. New Media Festival Los Angeles - Call for Entries

Los Angeles Center for Digital Art & Downtown Film Festival Los Angeles present: New Media Festival Los Angeles. Jurors:Henry Priest, DFFLA, Director, Downtown Film Festival Los Angeles. Rex Bruce, LACDA Director and Senior Curator, L.A. Center for Digital Art. LACDA and DFFLA announce an international call for artists: non-narrative short experimental video for screening looping, video art for exhibit, interactive multimedia, internet art for gallery presentation, net.art (web art presented on websites), digital stills (digital art and photography). The New Media Festival Los Angeles is to be presented in conjunction with the Downtown Film Festival Los Angeles (DFFLA), the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk and hosted at L.A. Center for Digital Art, the Million Dollar Theater, the Downtown Independent Theatre and other nearby locations. LACDA will be the Official Cinema Lounge for the DFFLA hosting events, premiere after parties and presentations by luminaries drawing internationally recognized film and broadcast professionals, festival producers, media curators and festival goers where the work will be on view for potential connections and sales. News of the festival will be widely distributed by both the LACDA and DFFLA promotional teams through radio, television, press, email and social media. The opening reception for the competition exhibits are in conjunction with the Downtown Los Angeles Artwalk which draws over 20,000 people and will be touted as a major event for the DFFLA. Embracing Our Differences invites art submissions for its 10th annual outdoor art exhibit celebrating diversity. National and international submissions are encouraged. 39 artists will be selected for the exhibit. The Exhibit will be displayed April and May 2013 at Island Park along Sarasota, Florida’s beautiful bayfront. Since 2004, the exhibit has been viewed by more than 1,300,000 visitors. The exhibit will contain 38 billboard-sized (16 feet wide by 12 1/2 feet high) images of the selected artworks. Final selections will be chosen based on artistic excellence in reflection of the theme “embracing our differences”. Submissions will also be evaluated on how effectively it will read outdoors when enlarged to billboard size. Final selections will be made by a 3-judge panel of professional artists, curators and art professionals. A total of $3,000.00 in awards will be presented.Submissions must be postmarked no later than January 7, 2013.
