SOUTHWORKS 2010 Juried Artist Exhibition - Call for Artists

SOUTHWORKS 2010 Juried Artist Exhibition is one facet of the 2010 Arts festival. The festival will include
live music featuring a variety of the best country, blues and jazz musicians of Northeast GA, food vendors with local and international specialties, and children's activities area.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all United States residents/artists 18 years or older.

ORIGINALITY: Work must be original and completed within the past three years. No substitutes of accepted works will be permitted unless previous arrangements have been made with the SOUTHWORKS 2010 committee. Work previously exhibited at SOUTHWORKS or any OCAF exhibit within the last three years is not eligible.

JURIED IMAGES: All entries to the exhibit will be juried from computer images. If selected and upon receipt of work, the work is not of the quality reflected in the image, the juror reserves the right to exclude the work from the exhibit.

MERIT AWARDS: Merit Awards will be awarded by juror from the original artwork.
Over $10,000 in merit and purchase awards
Best in Show - $1000 and the opportunity for a solo exhibit
First Merit 2-D - $500 First Merit 3-D - $500 Six Merit Awards - $250
People's Choice Award, as voted by the visitors to the exhibition - $200

SIZE & WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS: 2-Dimensional works, excluding mat & frame, should not exceed 96" in any direction. Sculpture may have one side exceeding 96" inches in length, but weight should not exceed 150 lbs. The SOUTHWORKS 2010 committee reserves the right to reject any artwork due to size and weight limitations.

JUROR: Catherine Fox
Co-founder chief of visual arts coverage for www.ArtsCriticAtl.com, a blog about the fine arts in metro Atlanta. She was art and architecture critic for the Atlanta Journal Constitution after 27 years before retiring in May, 2009. During her tenure there, she earned such honors as Cox Writer of the Year, two Green Eyeshade and an American Association of Sunday and Feature Editors awards. She continues to contribute to the AJC and writes for other publications such as ArtNews, a national magazine, as well.

FEES:
OCAF members: non-refundable jury fee - $25 for up to three entries.
Non-members: non-refundable jury fee - $35 for up to three entries.

All work must be for sale. The Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation will deduct 35% commission on sales of artwork sold during the exhibition. No price changes from application permitted. For artists wishing to support OCAF with membership, see our Membership application online at www.ocaf.com
