Read! Create! Win!

You are invited to participate in an open competition to provide the book cover art for the republication of the widely-praised literary novel, The Unfastened Heart (Dutton/Penguin).

The winner of this contest will be awarded The Icon Prize and will receive $1500 in award money, with his/her artwork to be featured on the cover of the new edition of the novel. As a participant, you are advised to read the novel on which the prize is based.  In response to the text, you may enter for consideration paintings, graphic art, photographs, collage art and other visual media by submitting a digital photograph in jpg or jpeg format.

Each submission should include a brief statement about the section of the novel to which the art speaks. There is no entry fee. This contest is open to anyone worldwide, and artists of varying backgrounds and experience are welcomed. Artists may submit more than one entry. The administrators strongly encourage early submissions.
